Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca T. Adams.
Hi Bianca, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
B.T . Elite Consulting Group started in 2010 as a website and graphic design company, then later transitioned to a healthcare revenue company in 2013. I initially worked with a psychologist who had a revenue problem in her healthcare practice. I was able to help her recoup the missing reimbursement.
At the time her medical biller trained me on the ins and out of healthcare revenue. Her training gained me my very first client. The business gained momentum and took off. I was able to gain experience through on-the-job training, trial, and error, and continuing education. The business grew so much that I had to form a team in order to help assist me with the ongoing tasks. I was able to train my team and we are now conducting business in seven different U.S. states.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road! There were so many things that I did not know about conducting a nationwide business. There were three important things that I did learn and would like to share with the audience. Working with different client personalities.
I had to learn to not take anything personally when conducting business with different clients. Business is business! Remaining calm at all times and recording everything is imperative. Prevent anxiety by being professional and thinking about the information you give the clients before you respond. Always be prepared. Also respond through email with answers to phone calls, emails, etc. This way you will have a time-stamped record of what was stated for future reference.
I also struggled with abiding by my own company guidelines. I would let sob stories deter my decisions but I had to learn to stand firm on all decisions. If a client could not abide then I had to make a business decision to terminate business with the client.
This was the biggest struggle…Learning to delegate tasks. I did not trust others to complete different tasks. It is as if I had a monopoly on the knowledge of the business. However, the work became too much for me. I had to break down and learn how to delegate. I also could not grow the business because I was working In the business which left little time to gain new clients.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Just jump! Many hear this cliché all the time referring to moving to the next level. Jumping means risk taking literally and figuratively. It was scary and frightening for me to jump at times but it was the greatest gift to my business/career. Risk-taking is the main ingredient of the recipe for growth. Is it easy? No, I am always shaking in my boots when I make up my mind to do something different than what I have ever done before. Doubt is an evitable nemesis that plays with the mind and emotions. If entertained if for too long, most times it will make you disqualify yourself before even getting started. Risk-taking was definitely very hard for me to overcome in the beginning, however, over time I begin to realize that I if I did not take the risk I would always think “what would have or could have happened?” As an entrepreneur, I would never grow if I let FEAR stop me from achieving what I am destined to do. I quickly learn that if I take the risk and fail at it, I could always get back up and do it again and I would be a little more confident the next time and accomplish something I thought I could not do or was not good enough to do.
