Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Walters.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a mother of 3. I have two handsome twins boys that are nine years of age and my baby boy. After graduating Atlanta metropolitan state college, I started my first career in car sales. For five years, I learned how to engage with a variety of different people while learning how important finances and having good credit is. While maintaining top sales position which is very tough to do especially as a woman, I went back to school to get my second degree at Georgia state university. Working 60 hours a week plus college hours it was taking away from my family time. Plus, I was making a killing financially so I dropped out of Georgia state, realizing I did not want to acquire any more student loans debt.
This experience is what led to my passion. Real estate, I was introduced to it by uncle, a real estate mogul In Atlanta. I would go over his house and make cold calls hoping to get a potential client that may be interested in selling their property. I then realized I needed to challenge myself even more and get my real estate license. Boy was that tough, six weeks course of nonstop studying. And like most real estate agents, I did fail the first state exam. I was determined to pass so I continued to study for the next two weeks and rescheduled. I did pass on my second.
I was so scared and uncomfortable because this was something new. But my passion for helping others led the way. My first client was an old friend from high school, this took a lot of pressure off, after showing her multiple houses I realized this is indeed the fun part. And purchasing a home should be a fun experience. Once we got to the closing table, it was party time. She said she felt like I’ve been doing this for years!
After realizing this is want to do in life is assist families with their housing and financial needs, I decided to perfect my craft. I am still learning and growing everyday but my passion and love I have for this, I am confident it will lead to much success!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest struggle was being overly ambitious. This took away a lot of time from my sons when they were younger.
Also in car sales, it was very tough working with aggressive men everyday. I had to maneuver my way around.
When I got into real estate, it was also challenging and still is. Anything dealing with pleasing the public can be challenging because your job is to make sure the client is happy at all times. To make sure that every word in the contracts are for the best for your clients. With this market constantly shifting, and not for the better, it can get very tough finding your needles in a haystack.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Walters & Associates Is My Real estate brand name. Right now, it’s just me as the agent, but I’m pushing to become larger. I want to hire more real estate agents that will be able to assist with buyer and seller needs. My passion and love to help others will set me apart, this is not just a career for me. My brand is here to keep clients educated about this market so they can in turn make smart financial investments.
