Hi Bridget, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in the kitchen making my own products through many trials after trials. I truly wanted to learn and understand the products that goes into not only my hair but my daughter’s hair. Because I’m a science girl, I wanted to know which products was naturally best for our hair. What started out as a hobby turned into a business….. a legacy. My daughters were and still are my “Why”. I came to a point where I believe I had the correct formulas. I had about 4 people with different textures try out my products with their honest feedback. On each formula, I received great feedback on each one, but everyone voted the “Mint Roots” Collection. After having each person provide their feedback, I knew this line was something special. I remember my husband and I praying over each detail of the business before starting anything. I later began the steps to launching my Vegan Haircare Brand in October 2020. To see the growth where the company has taken off in less than 2 years is all God.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Fortunately, when I launched the business I ran into minor issues such formula corrections, getting ingredients to arrive on time. It never felt it wasn’t where the company couldn’t handle it. As the business took off and started growing, I realized the hard part of the business is marketing. Learning how to create a space where millions of people can know about a brand and how amazing my products are. Once I created a checklist in the beginning things really started looking great.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I launched a natural hair care product line designed for locs and natural hair in October 2020. My company recently launched a Plant-Based Pet Care Line for Sensitive skin Dogs, Cats & Horses in June 2022.
My mission for this brand is to educate and provide natural products for Pets & healthy hair. Our innovative line of organic products ensures quality and freshness. As the owner of Loc’d By Nature, I take great consideration of each ingredient added to the hair care line. The health of locs and loose natural hair and its impact on the environment is my biggest priority.
What sets the brand apart is being a black own business that not only specializes in natural hair products but plant-based pet care products. I’m most proud of knowing my company is trademarked which gives me full ownership of my brand.
I want new and existing customers to know that Loc’d By Nature was founded off of integrity. We will continue proving natural high-quality hair care products & pet care products that proves real results. Using our blend of natural and organic ingredients to personify.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the brand advancing and creating our haircare and pet care products in a new paid off warehouse.
In the next 5–10 years, I also see my brand in major retail stores.
