Hi Brooklyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello I am Brooklyn Robinson a hairstylist in Pennsylvania that specializes in lace installs and traditional sew ins. I eventually plan to be able to work with natural hair as well. I am 20 years old with an online hair extension store that I’ve been running for 3 years. I am now becoming a traveling stylist to help expand my business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it’s been a rocky road being in the hair business. There’s a lot of people that do hair, but your clientele isn’t just based off your work; it’s you as a person and your customer service you provide. Sometimes I do get discouraged when I post my work and it’s amazing but I don’t get the reaction I was looking for because I’m not a popular person that’s social. Support in my city isn’t really there, but over time I had to stop letting it get to me because it doesn’t have to show in my likes that people like my work it’s the consistent clients that keep coming and the new clientele that I get.
As you know, we’re big fans of Everything’s Raw Here. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Everything’s Raw Here comes from me selling raw hair extensions. I feel like everything that I put out should be to my best ability such as my work. When people look at my work, I don’t want to be considered good, I want people to think she’s so “raw” at what she do. I don’t want to be like everyone else I want my work, service and my business alone to be different from anything you’ve ever seen. Brand wise, I’m proud that I never gave up and over these three years that I’ve been in the hair industry, I feel as though I’ve elevated all around. I service in anything lace wise and sew ins such as wigs, closure or frontal installs, traditional sew ins. But I do want to expand and learn more about natural hair so I can grow my client’s hair and keep it healthy no matter what service they get. I am also a traveling hairstylist as well who makes customized wigs that you can purchase on my site.
