Exploring Life & Business with C. Montez Jones of The REHAB Cathedral

Today we’d like to introduce you to C. Montez Jones. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Bishop C. Montez Jones is a spirit-filled man of God who has always had a deep love and sense of compassion for others. Born in Atlanta, Georgia to Ms. Juanita Jones and Mr. Christopher White, Pastor Jones, even as a young boy operated under the anointing of God. Reared by his grandmother, Mrs. Mary L. White, Pastor Jones has always had the example of a Christian living in his life.

Although Bishop Jones is known for his gift of preaching, his ministry began in the area of music. He started playing the piano at the age of eight and quickly distinguished himself as a talented musician. Young C. Montez accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age 9 and during his teens, he served as a musician, usher and choir director at his home church, the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

As a young man, Bishop Jones was extremely dedicated to the music ministry but he was aware of the calling on his life to preach. He knew that he could not substitute this call to preach with music ministry. So, at the age of 17, Bishop Jones accepted his calling to preach the Gospel. He was licensed as a minister of the Gospel in 2001. Over the next eight years, Bishop Jones would travel to numerous churches and arenas, preaching the Gospel and leading souls to Christ.

In November 2009, he was ordained as an Elder by Bishop Michael D. Wilson at the HOPE Cathedral COGIC. He served faithfully; not only as a preacher, but as an armor bearer and minister of Music until his release in October of 2011.

Bishop Jones founded the REHAB Christian Fellowship in June 2010. A fellowship of young preachers and singers under the age of 35. Hosting numerous services, conferences, revivals and musicals, the REHAB Christian Fellowship grew from humble beginnings of 12 to its peak of over 100 active members. With a consistent following built, Pastor Jones followed the unction of the Holy Spirit to officially start the REHAB Church of Atlanta in January of 2012. Currently, the REHAB Church of Atlanta is one of the fastest-growing churches in the City of Atlanta. Set in a casual atmosphere, the REHAB Church of Atlanta has become a place of refuge, restoration and recovery. Under the leadership of Overseer Jones, the members of REHAB have begun the process of rehabilitation for their total person.

Bishop Jones was duly consecrated as a Bishop in the Lord’s church and enthroned as the Presiding Bishop of the International Network of Kingdom and Cultural Advancement on January 30, 2021 in the city of Atlanta by Bishop Michael D. Wilson, Bishop Bruce V. Parham and the Judah Fellowship of Churches and Ministries Inc. In addition to his Senior pastorate, Bishop Jones also serves as the Founder and Presiding Bishop of the International Network of Kingdom and Cultural Influence. Established in 2019, INKCA is a fellowship or ministry, media and marketplace leaders who are intentional about creating a changing climate around issues of civil and cultural injustice.

In December of 2022, Bishop Jones was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Theology from the School of the Great Commission Theological Seminary. Bishop Jones relinquishes all credit for the success of his ministry. He recognizes that it is all the Lord’s doing and it remains marvelous in his eyes. Bishop Jones is the husband of one wife, Lady Asia Lonyee’ Jones. He is a Spiritual Father, mentor and friend.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road of ministry is extremely challenging. I founded our ministry; it wasn’t inherited. Most of what I’ve learned over the past ten years of pastoring has been by the process of trial and error. Ministry essentially is a people service entity and we all know how challenging it can be at times to understand, organize and mobilize people. As challenging as the road has been at times, the rewards have been just as great. Once you develop a niche and you begin to understand your purpose, the road starts to get less bumpy and the seasons of uncertainty come around less frequently.

As you know, we’re big fans of The REHAB Cathedral. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The REHAB Cathedral is a Christian service institution founded upon the principles and precepts revealed through the Word of God for the restoration and rehabilitation of all people.

We will create a movement that will MAGNIFY God through MOBILIZING people for MAXIMUM results.

We will usher the wounded, broken and hurting into a place of rehabilitation by helping them to IDENTIFY the hindering cycles of their past. INITIATE the will to break them and INSTITUTE a plan to overcome them.

Through REHAB, believers will PURSUE a passion for God by building a personal relationship through a lifestyle of worship, absent of restrictions. BUILD a passion for people through quality relationships with others; adding value to their lives. And IGNITE a passion for recovery through God’s sense of overall purpose; which is true rehabilitation.

We will produce people who are physically, emotionally, mentally, financially and spiritually rehabilitated by providing services, classes, workshops and seminars; all ministering to the TOTAL person.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Understand your “WHY” first. Knowing your purpose is one of the most paramount tools that you can acquire on your journey to establishing anything. Understanding and embracing your “WHY” serves as a reminder in times of fatigue and uncertainty. It also helps you categorize what’s urgent and separate those things from what’s important. Everything on your list may be important, but not everything important is urgent. You will be less overwhelmed by the functions of your organization once you understand this principle.
