Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantrell Cofield. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Chantrell has built her business from a small, one-woman operation to a bustling real estate company with more than $100 million in sales since its inception.
Chantrell is an entrepreneur at heart with a passion for the highest level of customer service. Chantrell is an Associate Broker, a member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors and a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist. Chantrell specializes in new construction and resale properties, whether it be single-family homes, townhomes, condos, and/or commercial properties.
Recently, Chantrell has branched out into international markets, with a focus on the Dominican Republic and the broader Caribbean market. This new foray into the international real estate space feels like a natural step for Chantrell’s company and career, bringing with it new opportunities in new areas, such as real estate development and construction.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growing up in the Old Fourth Ward, in the rapidly changing city of Atlanta, I experienced financial hardship as a child, but through hard work and determination, I set my sights on entrepreneurship and started my own business in my early 20s.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Cofield Group?
From humble beginnings in the Old Fourth Ward district of Atlanta, seeing the frequency of violence happening to and around herself, close friends and family, Chantrell always knew she wanted to help people and make an impact in her community.
Chantrell is an entrepreneur and a people person. Having opened her first business in her early twenties, she knew that she was always destined for success. From doing hair in her mom’s kitchen at the tender age of 13, Chantrell knew one day that she wanted to own and operate her own hair salon; a dream that became reality when Chantrell was merely 22 years old. Within a five-year period, she was an owner and operator of multiple salons, Salon Dior and Lips Locs & Lashes. While running her salon, she decided to pursue her real estate career in 2003. After flipping hundreds of homes as an investor, in the spring of 2014 she decided to retire her salon tools and devote her time as a Real Estate Broker.
The Cofield Group is Chantrell’s pride and joy. Since beginning her real estate career in 2003, Chantrell Cofield is still going strong today. She has gained over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, representing hundreds of individuals in their real estate and property investment ventures.
In addition, Chantrell remains active in non-profit work, currently serving on the Board of Students Without Mothers, an Atlanta-based nonprofit assisting disenfranchised youth in preparing and paying for college. She also founded and served as President of the 501C3, A Driven Purpose, Inc., helping to foster positive change for at-risk youth in underserved communities throughout Atlanta. Calling on her extensive network, Chantrell has been fortunate enough to affect real change in her city.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I could definitely identify many individuals who helped me become successful. My parents are a huge contributing factor. My mother raised my younger brother and myself as a single parents and somehow always ensured we had what was needed. My foundation and stability in life is attributed to my beautiful queen. I received my work hustle from my driven father. Always ready to tackle any life challenge.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention one of my biggest influences: the dynamic Fannie “Marie” Edwards. I call her “Ma.” She practiced as a very successful real estate brokerage for decades, paving the way for many other young rising realtors. I am so grateful to have had her in my life. I credit her for helping make me the force I am today in the real estate industry.
