Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Moss-Crawford.
Hi Christina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After college, I started working with Taylor Communications Group doing PR work and working for my family business, Crawford Enterprises Inc, which is in construction. After about nine months of being home, I decided to move out from my parent’s home. Finding something to rent started to feel impossible so my father mentioned that I find something to purchase instead, I lucked up and found a 1/1 condo in the middle of the city that was under foreclosure, I made my first purchase which sparked my interest in real estate. A month after I purchased my condo I enrolled into real estate school. Through the years of working in real estate, working in the construction business and also still working in PR I decided to make a plan that would help me open a brokerage in three years. Through the three years, it takes to become a broker from an agent I sold my condo and another property I acquired which I had rented out through the Atlanta Housing Authority. After receiving my broker’s license I opened my boutique real estate brokerage. Throughout working within the real estate field my passion of helping others became more apparent which led me to develop, The Hustler’s Dinner which is an event dedicated to women who inspire and Endangered Species Outreach, a nonprofit focused on the trajectory of young men of color aged 10-18.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road for me has never been smooth but that’s the beauty of the entrepreneurial journey. The biggest lesson I learned is that everyone will not see your vision and that’s okay, God did not give it to them but he gave it to you. I’ve always self-motivated myself by believing in the things that God has placed on my heart and whispered in my ear, it’s been a journey of faith more than anything!
