Hi Chrystal, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, thank you very much for this amazing opportunity. I was born and raised in Newport News, VA in a single parent home along with my two older brothers. My father was not in the home and my mother did the best that she could raising three children. At the age of nineteen, I had my son Travis in which whom I reference as my hero. Growing up, I was told that I would not become anything in life and that I would not amount to anything. Therefore for many years, I struggled with feeling loved properly and had no self-confidence. Upon learning of my pregnancy with Travis, I became determined to change the narrative about my past. Fast forward, I’ve worked hard to be the best woman and mother that I could be for my son. At the age of forty I graduated from college and I’ve accomplished many other achievements as a single-parent mother. I am also a proud grandmother, first-time homebuyer and I own my own credit/financial education business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, not at all. Some of the challenges that I’ve faced was raising a son on my own without a consistent presence of his father. I watched my son encounter some of the same struggles that I had from feeling abandoned. In turn, this caused my son to act out in school/home and he became angry from the disappointment of his father not being around. It was extremely hard raising a son but I am grateful for the village that we had to help us overcome the challenges. Personally I struggled for many years with self-love and looked for love in all the wrong places until I became aware of who I was purposed and destined to be.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about CMB_Financial_Services?CMB_Financial_Services is a credit restoration and financial education business. I help others take control of their financial freedom by controlling their finances. The services include helping clients improve their credit scores through education while my credit attorneys remove inaccurate, unverifiable, and obsolete items from their credit reports. What sets me apart from others is that I am passionate about helping people change their lives. I am committed to each and every one of my clients. I provide one on one service assisting each client to reach their personal goals. I’ve personally experienced having bad credit and I had to file bankruptcy in my past. I am now educated about the importance of achieving and maintaining excellent credit and I want to help as many people as I can. What makes me proud is to hear the testimonies of the lives I’ve personally impacted. It warms my heart when my clients make me aware of the positive experience they’ve had while working with me.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To stand firm on my faith and believe that I can do all things that I set my mind to. Life will have its share of highs and lows but never give up no matter what storms that I face.
