Cristina’s Curls was inspired by my daughter Cristina. When Cristina was an infant, she suffered from severe eczema and cradle cap. We consulted with several specialists, and we were not happy with the toxic prescriptions given to us.
One evening, my husband said, “This is your area of expertise. Why don’t you make her something?” It was like a light bulb went off. I immediately started researching ingredients and essential oils to combat her issues. Three years later, Cristina’s Curls products are helping thousands of children worldwide!
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Every business has obstacles! The biggest obstacle that I battled with at the beginning was finding work-life/family balance. After deciding to close my spa and step away from the work field to grow our family, I was a stay-at-home mother/wife for 6 years. It was not my original plan to start a business during that time in my life, but when God says to move, you move, and it has been an amazing opportunity.
The other obstacle I dealt with was delegating. Starting a new business is like having a new baby. So, it has taken me a while to release control and trust the people I’ve put into positions to do what needs to be done. Thankfully, I’ve been very blessed to have a team that believes in Cristina’s Curls as much as I do.
