Exploring Life & Business with Danielle Corbin of True Definition Of Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Corbin.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Back in 2015, I use to make pic collages for my friends on Facebook. My good friends Avery & Jomeshia asked me to do one for their wedding save the date invitations. And instead of using random pictures, I asked if they could dress up, meet me at the park and I would use my mom’s camera to take their pictures. They agreed and the pictures came out very nice. It was them who told me I should look into doing photography. From then on I started doing pictures for my family and friends and they were so nice that strangers asked if I could take pictures for them. And as they say, the rest is history…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been easy. I haven’t always been able to put my photography first. I am a single parent of three (Karmen, Kaleb & Kylee)I work two other jobs, and I just graduated college in May of 2022. I have had to take breaks just to focus on other things, but I am thankful for clients who stayed faithful to what I have even when I didn’t myself.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am proud of my business because I never dreamed it would become what it is. I don’t claim to be the best photographer out here. I know there are a lot of things that I don’t know. But the fact that people still trust me to capture their special moments for them is amazing to me. I take pride in my work. And in being the photographer who is patient with kids and clients who are not initially comfortable in front of the camera. For someone who is self-taught and still learning, I am happy with where I am with TDP, I’m still having fun and only want my business to flourish from here.

Any big plans?
I have upcoming plans for TDP beginning in 2023. I don’t want to speak on them as of now but I am very excited for it. I also have enrolled in classes to perfect my craft and I’m very excited about that as well. I only want my future to be bigger than my present.
