Exploring Life & Business with Dante Hancock of Inferno Fitness Training & Boxing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dante Hancock.

Dante Hancock

Hi Dante, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story is a good example of how adversity and its challenges helps you become successful.

Most would look at me and think that I’ve been working out since I was young or developed that bulletproof plan to getting in shape. It was quite the opposite as I was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age nine and suffered from seizures until I was 22. Unfortunately; I could not participate in any physical activities until my disorder was cured.

From age nine to 16; I was constantly in and out of the hospital, seeing my neurologist along with having my brain scanned every other month as Epilepsy is very hard to control.

I was also having seizure episodes at school which at times caused me to pass out in front of students and teachers. Those moments were hard for me to deal with as feelings of embarrassment often came along.

After my brain operation at age 16; my seizures greatly decreased and permanently went away at 22. It was not until then that I could fully pursue living an active life without the fear of having an episode.

At age 28; after roughly five years of being seizure free; I pursued Boxing as it was a passion of mine but was impossible for me to participate in during my younger years.

I had my first fight at age 32 in 2024 which resulted in a very close loss on my end; but I’ve had much tougher battles growing up so there was no other option except to train harder.

The next year included a rematch against the same fighter. All the hard work and training paid off as I won this time.

My story is a great example of keep fighting and to never give up whether it is through life or Boxing. I also Personal Train and try to keep others motivated as I truly understand what it feels like to struggle.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Donald Hancock, my father; raised me to believe that no road is smooth and if so; you will have no growth from that.

He always told me that the easy route gets you minimal results and taking the more challenging one helps you achieve much more.

My path to Boxing and Personal Training came with nothing but challenges. Going back to my childhood growing up with Epilepsy; I was the exact opposite as performing even light duty workouts triggered my disorder.

I had an average of three seizure episodes each day which made living a normal life very challenging. Seeing others play sports was discouraging, having an attack in public was embarrassing and walking every day wondering if and how many would occur was very draining.

Thankfully I have been symptom free since 2007.

I wake up every morning and reflect back on my childhood reflecting on the challenges.

The lessons I’ve learned are that challenges make you stronger and remind yourself how close you are every time you think of quitting.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As Owner & Operator of Inferno Fitness; my main focus is helping others stay active in Fitness while building confidence through Boxing.

With my Military background and experience in competition level Amateur Boxing; I know the importance of being active and taking care of your health.

I am also the Sports Representative for Saikou Toure who is a Semi-Professional Basketball Player looking to take his talents to the next level.

My business is best known for pushing clients into being that healthier and more confident versions of themselves through Boxing and Fitness.

“You are only as limited as you believe that you are.”

Limitations are set only by your mindset and my goal is help others surpass those limits while developing a better version of themselves.

The greatest accomplishment I’ve reached recently was winning my recent Amateur Boxing match against an opponent I previously lost to.

A rematch in hopes to win this time came with mental challenges.

Though I was training intensely and mentally prepared as well; I couldn’t help but have that shred of doubt as facing the same opponent I’ve lost to already naturally comes with that mental challenge.

With the mentoring from Boxing Coach Harry Hooper of Boojitsufighting out of Atlanta GA; I was able to turn any doubts into fuel as he helped me fight hard and win my rematch.

Winning that rematch proved to me that a loss is only fuel to the fire.

I always preached to use challenges as motivation and the only way to practice what I preach is by demonstrating it.

My company focuses on not thinking of yourself as weak and instead acknowledging that you are as strongest one out there!

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Aside from Boxing and Personal Training; I assist my wife Melanie Hancock with her Film Production company; In the Mix Media LLC.

Whether it is playing an extra, assisting with sound or capturing behind the scene footage; I try to help in any way I can with her work.

“……..We’ve been trying to reach you regarding your extended warranty……”

Who hasn’t heard that line?!

She is currently working on a short film where one tries to focus on everyday norms such as waking up, going to work and coming home; but is bombarded by her warranty company. She eventually finds out the truth after experiencing a series of chaotic and unpredicateable events.

Tele-market calls are always fun and avoiding them just makes life so much easier……but they eventually find a way back into your life.

With an amazing team composed of great actors such as Jared Hasmuk and Tandi Paglia along with talented videographer Jamaika Simms; the production date is coming soon and we all look forward to her brilliant work.

I’ve picked up basic tips on Acting under the expertise of her film company.
