Exploring Life & Business with David Ge of Sunnyside Pizzeria

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Ge.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
While in college David & Sunny had an idea to open a pizza restaurant as a passion project one day. After graduating, David went into investment banking and Sunny was a CPA in public accounting. After working in our respective fields for about five years we had enough money saved to open Sunnyside Pizzeria, we didn’t think too much and decided to go for it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We are completely winging it. Neither of us are from the restaurant industry as professionals, we both held restaurant jobs in college like hosting, serving, food running, and bartending. Learning all aspects of the restaurant business has been quite the journey for us. It’s been a combination of fear, excitement, and gratitude to have the opportunity.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Small neighborhood pizzeria. We make make our own Neapolitan pizzas, Italian pastas, and Gelato with simple healthy ingredients. Our goal is pretty simple, we just want to provide good food, good times, and good wine.
