I’m Dejsha Watson Hill, a 26-year-old hairstylist with 11 years of experience and 6 years of licensing. I moved to Atlanta on my own at the age of 21 and started working commission jobs to save up for my own place. Eventually, I transitioned to booth rent. Working in Atlanta has been a journey filled with blessings, challenges, and surprises. I’ve had the privilege of assisting alongside Christopher Kyle and working with celebrities like K Michelle and Dess Dior. Through my time in the hair industry, I’ve achieved many goals and gained valuable insights into myself. My success today is a testament to my commitment to providing excellent customer service, consistently working, and actively promoting my business through business cards, networking events, and social media.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth ride all the time. Some challenges I’ve faced would be like going out to promote my business on my own. It’s something challenging that has to be done.
