Hi Desirée, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My love for beauty and skincare started long before I knew it would become my career. Since high school, I was the girl doing my makeup in the bathroom before classes started, sharing skincare advice online, and experimenting with anything beauty-related that made me feel creative. People around me would always tell me, “You should do makeup or something in the beauty industry,” and those words definitely planted a seed. But at the time, my family (especially my mom’s side) really emphasized going to college and finishing school first. So I quietly set my passion aside, even though it never left my heart.
When COVID hit in 2019 and the world slowed down, I finally had a moment to breathe and think about what I truly wanted. I realized how much I desired to build something of my own, something rooted in passion and purpose. That’s when I created my LLC, before I had a clear direction, before I knew exactly what I would do, and before any step made sense. I just had this deep feeling that something was coming and I needed to be prepared when it was time to move.
Before aesthetics, I worked in healthcare operations and management, and those experiences shaped me into the businesswoman I am today. Everything I learned, from running a business to maintaining safety, organization, and patient care has laid the foundation for how I now operate my spa.
The leap into entrepreneurship was truly God-led. He put this vision on my heart, and even when things didn’t make sense, I felt called to trust Him. He also placed amazing people around me which included friends who are entrepreneurs, strong businesswomen, and family who supported me fully. Their encouragement pushed me forward when I needed it most.
“Empowering Radiance” became my mission because I believe beauty is more than skin-deep. My goal is to help clients restore their confidence and recognize how much resilience they already carry. When that confidence is renewed, it creates a radiance within them that shines even brighter in which I’m grateful to play a part in that transformation.
My resilience comes from knowing that God has me on this journey with purpose. Every job, training, and experience I’ve had has aligned perfectly for this moment. Even the challenges have strengthened me. Before I had my spa space, I was fully mobile—traveling, setting up equipment at locations, breaking everything down, loading it into my car, then doing it all over again. It was exhausting at times, but I did it with gratitude because I was blessed to have clients who trusted me, even before I had a permanent space. And now, having my own spa space truly feels like a blessing.
Today, I specialize in corrective and restorative treatments, including hydrodermabrasion, lasering, waxing, and so much more. I’ve grown by sharing educational content, staying committed to professional development, participating in events, and consistently expanding my product and skincare knowledge. It’s been a journey, but one filled with purpose, gratitude, and passion. And honestly, I’m just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship rarely is, and my journey came with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest obstacles in the beginning was starting out completely mobile. Before I had a spa space, I was traveling from location to location which included packing up equipment, loading it into my car, setting up in someone’s home or a rented space, breaking everything down, and doing it all again for the next client. That process was physically exhausting and mentally draining, but I stayed grateful because each appointment meant someone trusted me with their skin.
Another major challenge was navigating the financial side of building a business. When you’re starting out, you’re investing in equipment, products, education, supplies, marketing (everything) with no guarantee of immediate return. There were times where I had to stretch what I had, prioritize carefully, and trust that God would make a way. And He did, however, it was definitely a barrier I had to push through with faith and determination.

My business, Desirée Jones Aesthetics, is a corrective and restorative skincare brand dedicated to helping clients rediscover their confidence from the inside out. I specialize in treatments such as hydrodermabrasion, corrective facials, laser services, and waxing. My focus is always on results-driven skincare and helping clients address concerns like acne, texture, hyperpigmentation, and dullness while restoring the health and radiance of their skin.
What sets my brand apart is the level of intention, care, and personalization that goes into every service. I don’t believe in rushed, “cookie-cutter” skincare. Every client receives a customized experience based on their skin, lifestyle, and long-term goals. My background in healthcare operations also plays a major role in how I run my business with prioritizing safety, sanitation, client education, and ethical practices at every step.
I’m known for creating a safe, welcoming environment where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. My mission, “Empowering Radiance,” is the heart of everything I do. It’s not just about clear skin, it’s about helping people reconnect with their confidence, recognize their resilience, and feel beautiful in their natural glow.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients. Many of them come to me vulnerable (struggling with acne, self-esteem, or feeling overwhelmed by skincare) and watching their transformation, inside and out, is what fuels me. I’m also proud of my ability to connect with clients through education, content creation, and events that make skincare feel approachable and uplifting.
