Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Linda Bing.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve spent most of my life helping other people find their power.
I built Turning Point Leadership Group to teach leaders how to create workplaces that were diverse, inclusive, and rooted in respect. I poured my heart into helping organizations grow—and for years, that was my purpose.
Then, the world shifted. The political climate changed. Conversations that once opened doors started closing them. And suddenly, the work I’d dedicated my life to was being questioned, minimized, and in some spaces… silenced.
It was hard because I wasn’t just running a business—I was walking in my calling. And when that calling seemed to be cut off, I had to ask myself, “What now?”
Here’s the truth: I’ve been blessed with incredible experiences. I’ve shared stages with legends like Les Brown. I’ve been featured on a Times Square billboard. I’ve written books, created award-winning training programs, and even received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
But when life shifted, I still found myself wondering—am I enough to start over?
That’s a question many women face—especially in midlife. We’ve raised families, built careers, served others—and then one day, we realize we’ve lost pieces of ourselves along the way. And then our bodies begin to betray us. We experience undiagnosed aches and pains, hot flashes, foggy thinking, unexpainable tears, and so much more.
And that’s when my next chapter began. I started listening—to my body, my spirit, and to other women who whispered, “Me too.” I realized these changes were symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. That transition isn’t just a physical transition. It is also emotional. spiritual. and identity-shifting.
So I pivoted again—but this time, toward women like me.
I created spaces where we could talk about the things nobody was talking about. Spaces like Cheers to the Change™, Menopause & Mimosas™, and yes, even the Hot Flash Happy Hour™ and the Midlife Magic™ online community—because sometimes we just need to laugh, learn, and lift each other up through it all.
What I’ve learned is this: Every ending holds the seed of a new beginning.
You can rise again—different, wiser, softer, stronger.
And when you do, you’ll realize that the question was never “Am I enough?”
It was always “Am I ready to become who I was meant to be next?”
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Not at all — but it’s been a meaningful one. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve hit a few bumps along the way.
The most impactful was financial. There were seasons when the contracts slowed down or payments were delayed, and I had to make some tough choices. It taught me to build smarter systems, diversify my income, and most of all, trust that purpose and provision eventually align — even when the numbers didn’t look right in the moment.
Another challenge came when I pivoted my business. Turning Point Leadership Group started with corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training, and that work was incredibly rewarding. But as the political climate shifted, so did the opportunities. I had to reimagine how to make an impact and I moved us into women’s empowerment and menopause education. Reinvention can be uncomfortable — it means stepping out of what’s familiar and risking being misunderstood — but that pivot opened the door to my most authentic work yet.
And then there’s the challenge of self-doubt. Even with years of experience and recognition, there were times I questioned if people would take me seriously as I evolved. I had to remind myself that credibility doesn’t come from staying the same, it comes from staying true.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth — but every challenge refined me. Each lesson made me stronger, wiser, and more compassionate toward others who are navigating their own turning points. I look forward to the bumps up ahead.
As you know, we’re big fans of Cheers to the Change, part of Turning Point Leadership Group LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Turning Point Leadership Group has always been about helping people grow through change — personally and professionally. We specialize in leadership development, DEI training, and executive coaching for organizations that want to build inclusive, resilient cultures. That’s the foundation of what we do.
As my own life evolved, so did the mission. Out of Turning Point came Dr. Linda Coaching which is now Cheers to the Change™, a movement that helps women — especially those 40 and over — embrace midlife as a season of power, not pause. We provide awareness training and benefits analysis to organizations so they can retain the talent of midlife women. Women over 50 is one of the fastest growing groups in the workplace today. Surveys indicate that almost 80% of women in perimenopause and menopause experience symptoms that negatively affect them at work. And, 1 in 10 women have left their mobs due to menopause symptoms. This is a serious issue that doesn’t just impact women. It impacts everyone.
In addition to corporate education, we host events like Menopause & Mimosas™ and Hot Flash Happy Hour™, bringing women together to learn, laugh, and reclaim their vitality. And for ongoing connection and support, there is Midlife Magic™ online community — a safe, inspiring space where women can access resources, talk to medical experts, share stories, receive validation, and be part of something bigger than themselves.
What sets my organization apart is that we take a holistic approach — blending science, strategy, and soul. Whether in a corporate boardroom or hosting a women’s wellness event, my goal is the same: to help people rise with confidence and compassion during times of transition.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Cheers to the Change™ has become more than an event series — it’s a movement. It celebrates women in all their brilliance and reminds them that they are not alone in this journey.
If there is one thing I want people to know, it’s this: change doesn’t have to break you — it can build you. Through Turning Point Leadership Group, Cheers to the Change™, and the Midlife Magic™ community, we’re creating pathways for both women and workplaces to thrive — one transformation at a time.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I believe we can learn something from anyone. That’s what I try to do. My taste is eclectic so I can’t say that I have any favorite apps, books, podcasts, or blogs. It all depends on what I’m focused on at any given time – usually things to help me grow as a person or to help my business grow.
That being said, my list of favorites includes the two books that I wrote. “Tame Your Tongue & Transform Your Relationship” introduces four “tongues” which are patterns of communication. The book describes the characteristics of each tongue and shares how you can tame your tongue for a healthier relationship. “Tame Your Tongue & Transform Your Organization: How to Close the Employee Inclusion Gap” does the same for leaders. It provides useful information to help them create an inclusive workplace environment.
However, when I’m reading for enjoyment, give me a good murder mystery like one written by James Patterson. He’s probably my favorite fiction author.
