DTC Production began as the shared vision of three passionate and talented actors Denisha Brown-Mitchell, Tanysha Newman, and Catina R. Fletcher who each brought over five years of experience in the film industry. Before founding the company, they gained valuable expertise working with some of the most esteemed directors and producers, including Tyler Perry, Will Packer, 50 Cent, and Jeff Davis.
During this time, they developed their skills across various aspects of filmmaking, from writing and directing to producing and acting. However, they recognized the need to take control of their creative destinies. This led to the founding of DTC Production a company built on the pillars of Dreams(Denisha), Talent(Tanysha), and Creativity(Catina).
Since its inception, DTC Production has been dedicated to creating high-quality films that entertain, inspire, and educate audiences worldwide. The company continues to push the boundaries of storytelling, leveraging the founders’ diverse talents and shared passion for the craft. As a company founded by three talented Black women, DTC Production has faced unique obstacles in establishing itself within a predominantly male-dominated industry. One of our ongoing challenges has been navigating the additional pressure to consistently prove ourselves and demonstrate our value, despite our extensive expertise and dedication to our craft.
Securing funding has also been a significant hurdle, as the entertainment industry often presents barriers for underrepresented creators seeking financial support for their projects. Furthermore, we’ve encountered instances where our commitment and hard work have been undervalued or taken advantage of, a reality that underscores the importance of advocating for ourselves and our vision.
Despite these challenges, we remain steadfast in our mission to create impactful and innovative stories. These experiences have only strengthened our resolve to break barriers, amplify diverse voices, and pave the way for others in the industry.
