Exploring Life & Business with Felé Yeldell of Fresh Face by Fele

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felé Yeldell.

Hi Felé, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as a solo esthetician started in January, 2019 by enrolling in esthetician school. Balancing work, school, and life wasn’t easy but the vision I had for myself gave me the motivation to see it through. I completed the required 1000 hours needed to graduate in April 2020, in the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic.

Shortly after finishing school, and becoming licensed, I began working on my own. My sister already had a suite in Synergy Suites, where she braids and styles hair and encouraged me to start working there too. I provided facials, facial waxing, and brow shaping treatments. In that space, I established my brand Fresh Face by Fele, heavily marketing myself and brand in person and on social media, and started to build clientele.

In June 2021, I moved into a private suite, at Synergy, where I provide facials, body treatments, face and body waxing, and other esthetic services and treatments.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s certainly been an interesting journey with its ups and downs. One of my main struggles in the beginning was gaining clientele and staying encouraged during slow days, weeks, or months.

What helped me navigate those times was the realization that running a business is a commitment, and with that, I needed to discipline myself to dedicate time, attention, and work to my business even in the “slow” times. So instead of being discouraged, I studied the beauty and business side of things, promoted more, worked on my site, or dedicated some sort of energy into my business.

Maintaining a business definitely is met with struggles, but staying disciplined helps to navigate through it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Fresh Face by Fele?
Fresh Face by Fele specializes in skincare, body care, waxing and beauty services in the heart of Atlanta. Guests leave me feeling fresh, relaxed, and more secure.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t necessarily believe that luck has a played a role in my life or business. There’s good days, and bad days, and my choices through it all has gotten me where I’m at. I believe that we’re all granted opportunities on our journey, and it’s what we decide to do with them is what matters. I also believe that when you set your intentions, and become consistent with your passions then you can have whatever it is you feel “luck” could bring.
