Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey has never been a straight line, it’s been one of faith, resilience, and continual reinvention. I officially launched BG Promotions in 2009, but my work in marketing and promotion started years earlier through grassroots efforts: street marketing, event promotion, photography, and community-based branding here in Atlanta. I’ve always been a connector, someone who could see potential in people and help amplify their vision.

Like many entrepreneurs, I experienced major setbacks early on. There were seasons of loss, depression, and starting over, which forced me to slow down and rebuild from the inside out. That period reshaped not only how I approached business, but how I approached life. I learned that mindset, health, discipline, and structure are just as critical as talent.

By 2017, everything shifted. I opened my first photography studio, expanded my creative services, and began rebuilding BG Promotions with intention. By 2020, during the pandemic, my company went fully operational full-time, supporting multiple businesses with digital branding, marketing systems, and online visibility at a time when many were forced to pivot or shut down.

Since my first VoyageATL feature in 2021, the growth has been exponential. Today, BG Promotions is no longer just a marketing agency, it’s an ecosystem. I now focus on helping entrepreneurs and small businesses scale through digital platforms, automation, education, and strategy, especially those who feel overwhelmed or left behind by technology. I’ve also continued my own education, strengthened my leadership, and expanded into consulting, coaching, and community-based initiatives.

At the core of everything I do is purpose. I believe my assignment is to help people see what’s possible for their brands and their lives, and to walk with them as they build it. I’m still evolving, still growing, and still obedient to the path God keeps unfolding. The story is far from over.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has refined me. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth often requires uncomfortable transitions. I’ve faced financial setbacks, client losses, burnout, and moments where I had to rebuild systems, confidence, and even my own mindset from scratch.

The pandemic was a major turning point. While it allowed me to go full-time in my business, it also exposed how fragile many businesses were, including my own. I lost clients, revenue fluctuated, and I was forced to re-evaluate how I structured my services, pricing, and platforms. It taught me the importance of sustainability over hustle.

Another ongoing challenge has been navigating entrepreneurship as a woman who leads with integrity and heart. Not everyone understands or respects that approach, and there were times I had to learn when to say no, set firmer boundaries, and stop pouring into situations that weren’t reciprocal.

I’ve also learned that personal health, mental clarity, and discipline directly impact business success. When I wasn’t taking care of myself, it showed up in my work. Rebuilding from those moments required humility, accountability, and a willingness to evolve.

None of these challenges stopped me, they strengthened me. They sharpened my focus, deepened my faith, and pushed me to build smarter, not just harder. Today, I move with clarity, intention, and purpose, knowing that every obstacle was preparation for the level I’m operating on now.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that surprises many people is that my work is deeply rooted in healing and personal growth, not just business. While most see me as confident, energetic, and always “on,” there was a time when I had to completely rebuild my mental, physical, and emotional health before I could truly lead at the level I’m at now.

Another surprise is that I’m naturally more reflective than people expect. I spend a lot of time studying, learning, and intentionally working on myself behind the scenes, whether that’s through education, faith, or personal development. The structure and discipline people see in my business today came from seasons where I had to slow down, sit still, and realign.

People also don’t always realize how much teaching fuels me. I genuinely enjoy breaking things down, helping someone “get it,” and watching that moment of confidence click. That’s where my passion really lives, not just in building brands, but in helping people believe in themselves and what they’re capable of building.

At my core, I’m purpose-driven. Everything I do, business, consulting, community work, is guided by impact, not just income. Once people understand that, my brand makes a lot more sense.
