Hi Hedley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Wilson Photos LLC on 2/20/2020 with a simple but powerful vision: to capture people, places, and moments in their best light while delivering a truly professional experience. Photography was always more than just a passion for me—it was a way to connect with people, tell stories visually, and help clients elevate their personal brand or business.

I focused on building my craft, learning not only the technical side of photography but also the business side—client relationships, contracts, pricing, and marketing. What started with individual portraits and headshots quickly grew into real estate photography, weddings, events, and brand work. Over time, I saw how much clients valued not just the images, but also my quick turnaround, attention to detail, and ability to make sessions comfortable and enjoyable.

Today, Wilson Photos LLC is based in Alpharetta, GA, serving both individuals and businesses across the Atlanta metro. I specialize in luxury headshots, real estate photography, and event coverage, always with the same goal: creating images that make clients look and feel their best while providing a smooth, professional process from booking to delivery.

Every step of the journey has been about growth—expanding services, refining my style, and building partnerships with local businesses and realtors. I’m proud of how far the business has come and excited about where it’s going.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—like most small business owners, I’ve faced my fair share of obstacles. One of the biggest challenges early on was simply getting my name out there. Photography is a competitive industry, especially in the Atlanta area, and it takes time to build a reputation and consistent client base.

Another hurdle has been balancing the creative side with the business side. As much as I love being behind the camera, running a business means handling contracts, pricing, taxes, marketing, and technology upgrades. Learning how to wear all those hats while still keeping the client experience smooth was a big growth point for me.

There have also been challenges with time management—turning around high-quality edits quickly, sometimes within 24–48 hours, while juggling multiple projects. Add to that the learning curve of adapting to new platforms, like Zillow 3D tours, drone certification, and evolving SEO/marketing strategies, and there’s always something new to master.

But each challenge has shaped the business. Those struggles pushed me to systemize my workflow, invest in the right tools, and lean into networking to create steady opportunities. Looking back, I see those obstacles not as setbacks, but as stepping stones that helped me refine my brand and raise the bar for my clients.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was going on cruise trips with my family. I remember waking up early, long before most people were on deck, just to watch and capture the sunrise over the ocean. There was something magical about the calm, the colors, and the feeling of being present in that moment.

Looking back, those mornings were probably the spark that shaped my love for photography. Even then, I wanted to freeze time and hold onto the beauty I was seeing. That experience taught me not just to look at things, but to really see them—and that same mindset is what I bring into my work today.
