Today we’d like to introduce you to Inahaya Ray.
Hi Inahaya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am from Washington DC, 23 Years old I started as soon as I Graduated Highschool in 2017, when I was in high school I received my cosmetology license and I always came to school so pretty with my Individual lashes on and everyone in my class would ask me to do theirs so of course, I did secretly in the locker rooms before class LOL. So as soon as I graduated I jumped right into the lash game knowing nothing I just knew I had a support system from previous clients in school! All I knew was I had to make something happen because I really had a passion for this. And my passion is my purpose I continued to save up enough money and moved into a studio lash office and fast forward to 2020 I moved to ATLANTA and things changed drastically for me I started only teaching Classes became the GREATEST LASH INSTRUCTOR, I had the lash game down pack so I felt I can pass my technique along to minorities and help them become their own BOSS… NOW WE ARE BACK IN THE GAME, OFFERING CLASSES AND EYELASH EXTENSIONS SERVICES.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being in the Eyelash Business has not been the easiest process being as though I relocated to another state, and everything was robbed from me in my Uhual right before I was moving into my new apartment So I had to start from scratch as if I was just starting my Lash business. I worked so hard for all that I had and all I could do is Thank God that I am still alive. I realized I couldn’t cry over spilled milk for too long all I could do is refill my glass and be grateful I am HERE… Another struggle that can trigger you is knowing you’re not the only one in the LASH GAME. I’ve been in the game for a while now so I came to the realization I DONT HAVE ANY COMPETITION I AM ALL THAT GOD WANTS FOR ME. WHAT’S FOR ME IS FOR ME AND I GOT IT. I AM GROWING EVERY DAY LEARNING NEW TECHNIQUES AND MEETING NEW ARTISTS THAT CAN TEACH ME AS WELL…
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Covid-19 Definitely has changed things for me mentally and spiritually. I wouldn’t say things were bad for me because I know God has a plan for all that comes my way no matter the circumstances and as long as I kept my FAITH and know God was with me I couldn’t complain about my situation. Yes, I had obstacles to go through that were inevitable but I remained strong about it and took each situation for what it was and let God handle it for me.
