Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Samuels.
Hi Jada, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! My name is Jada Samuels and I am the CEO of Jada Juice. Jada Juice is a smoothie company that uses fresh, all natural fruits and vegetables and incorporates them into healthy smoothies. I started Jada Juice in March of 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic while a junior in high school in response to the horrific statistics surrounding minority individuals contracting COVID. I desired to give communities a way to keep their immune systems healthy in a way that was easily accessible and flavorful! My mom helped me grow my business from the ground up by creating an official Jada Juice website, Instagram as well as a logo. Together my mom and I created a Jada Juice menu composed of 6 different flavors and we began selling 12 0z bottles to close family and friends. As my clientele continued to grow, I began to get numerous business opportunities from companies such as Black People Eats and Fox 32 News where I was able to showcase Jada Juice on big platforms.
Throughout the rest of 2020, I continued to grow and expose Jada Juice by being a part of numerous pop up shops and events throughout Chicago such as the Black Women’s Expo and Womanish presents: Paidish. I am now a freshman at Georgia State University where I continue to consistently run Jada Juice concurrently with my undergraduate coursework as a Business Administration major.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship by design is never smooth in my opinion. There are always obstacles and challenges one most overcome in order to extract the greatness that is inside a CEO and their respective company. Before moving from Chicago to Atlanta start my undergraduate career at Georgia State University, I was accustomed to having my mother at my side to assist me all the time. Growing up, I was not the most outspoken person. In many cases, because of my introverted nature, my mother has to cover me by speaking on my behalf and events with larger audiences.
By moving to Atlanta, I had to face my fears and start over in a sense, learning to become self-reliant and self-sufficient. I was forced out of my comfort zone in order to accomplish things on my own that I would normally have help with. It took me a long time to get motivated and start pushing my brand in Atlanta because I was unsure where to start. I had to find a new fruit vendor as well as a place to work. I would call my mom everyday and express my frustration to her. Eventually, I realized my business has a purpose that I had to fulfill. Working my business makes me feel like I have a purpose, when I wasn’t working I felt like I wasn’t being productive with my time. I began to motivate myself to push through the adversity I was facing. Once my heart and mind opened up to the blessings around me, I found everything I needed and got started. I am glad that I experienced the challenges I was facing because it taught me how to do things on my own.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jada Juice?
Jada Juice is a smoothie company that uses all natural fruits and vegetables and incorporates them into healthy smoothies. Not only does Jada Juice smoothies have numerous bodily benefits, but they are also full of flavors that will leave customers feigning for more!! Jada Juice fruits and vegetables are hand picked, thoroughly cleaned and blended without any added preservatives.
In addition, we are a social conscious enterprise as well. When Jada Juice was started, our goal was to meet the need of those that were disproportionately affected by COVID-19 by boosting their immunity through healthy smoothies. That is still very much part of our mission today. Because we have expanded operations to Atlanta, we are looking for unique ways to give back to the community there to ensure better health outcomes for all people, regardless of their socioeconomic status.
This business was started by Jada Samuels at 17 years old and she has accomplished so much in just under two years. We are excited and determine to see where Jada Juice can go in the next few years!
