Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalynn Craig.
Hi Jalynn, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My story starts with me having the opportunity to work right next to small business owners and entrepreneurs and being able to see their day-to-day life and how I perceive their lifestyle to be very cool. I mean to be able to order inventory, come up with a concept to bring income for you and your family, to take charge and delegate to make things happen, and last but not least the freedom that came with it. I knew then by working so close to people that had their own businesses that I would want to acquire this lifestyle. Every job I work for that was a big corporation like LA fitness and target for example I always wondered who the owners were and how could they get so much capital to start a worldwide chain that everybody knows and uses.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road absolutely… NOT! has it been a fun road absolutely… YES! Although I love the thrill of a new day and not knowing what to expect in my day-to-day the challenges seems to remain the same in any business that I’ve tried to start and operate! You have your initial excitement, then the stress of trying to put things together with a limited schedule, and lastly you then have to figure how to go about marketing to who or what your target audience is, in some ways you have to outthink your competition, then you have to access on how to overcome everyday issues. However, my struggles stemmed from having to restart multiple times and the disappointment of having to restart, and the shame that I thought I brought to myself and my family however as I grown and met more people everyone has had to start over or revamp themselves are re-introduce themselves in the game of entrepreneurship, so it makes it all worth it looking back!
We’ve been impressed with Haus of Beauty & Hair Atl, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So, my business and my future organization basically stems around health beauty finances, and lifestyle. My main source of income for my businesses would have to be my hair products and tools store that’s located in two
Of the malls right here in Georgia. We specialize in beauty expertise and hair product/tools and knowledge. What separates us from your beauty supply or local store that that just sells hair products and tools we actually have a 101 experience with a customer demonstrating the product and letting them see firsthand how our product works and what they should use according to the hair texture & type and if it’s been chemically process. I am most proud of brand because when I first started this business in college just working as a sales rep I noticed that no one really took it to the level that I’ve taken it to as far as branding I definitely am proud that I decided to take something that was so common and so easily sought after into something that is a brand and actually ties into my lifestyle and into my other business ventures. We actually also keep a strong database off our customers to ensure they follow us to the 2023 expansion plans we have coming! So, stay tuned for that! Although we do outsource our products we are very passionate with customer service and customer branding so they were easily sought after in the heavy competition that we deal Being that my brand offers beauty expertise from our knowledgeable sales reps we also offer an experience you can’t get anywhere else in the mall, I like to include my customers and my branding as well so they fill a part of it like a family and also that makes them want to come back for more we do email blast text messages we have guest speakers come in and speak at our company meetings to help with our sales strategy and we talk about how to be healthy at work! My company really grasp the idea of a family workplace that is healthy and full of communication that is to the point and easily understood. I think bringing in other people who have different types of direct sales apart from our own for example like Mr. Andy from Mr. Andy buys houses.com, who focuses on flipping homes, wholesale real estate buying, credit, and also a healthy lifestyle to make your mind more clear for a strong sell strategy that implies a more broader approach to income and taking charge of your time! I definitely respect and like his style of how he uses social media to make flipping houses that most people who are in the beauty industry will find peculiar from their day to day and makes it interesting, think this is great for the team because it gives them a different voice and a different selling sound outside of my own although I do you have over 10 years experience in sales I do believe that hearing other people stories and other peoples testimonials about how they sell is conducive for a healthy work environment that’s fast-paced and evolving. every so often specialty Drs like Dr. Brian Martinez will come in to speak with the team about how to stay healthy working on your feet all day which in my opinion majorly adds value to sales strategy and how to go to a deeper level of getting to knowing your body and maximize your quality of work. Along with different sales strategy, I definitely believe that a healthy team as a best team not only mentally healthy but physically healthy so Dr. Brian Martínez will come and talk to the team about a healthy work-life balance and you can find his chiropractor shop right in the heart of Duluth where he’s innovative and he not just touches on the chiropractic experience but also and not limited to a more in-depth analysis of your skeleton which also ties into focusing on the nervous system, stress, emotions, and internal issues that most people cannot identify with a regular adjustment. As you can see there’s nothing basic over here, we like to be as innovative and up-to-speed as possible I definitely believe that my brand is set apart I think most people in this kiosk business like to sell and the customers are gone but we actually use a database to keep up with all of our customers for a future businesses and future marketing ventures.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are so many and this space is just too small to sum it all up, but I will definitely try to keep it as simple possible with the space given(laughs!) Without giving away too much detail we would definitely like to expand to focus more service on a based business with Haus Of Beauty and Haus of hair atl I also would like to venture into the real estate and digital finance!
I’m looking forward to taking my business to a different state possibly a different country I also look forward to getting inside of the financial business aspect which is very popular right now but also implementing key strategies to upgrade my income times 5, not just from one business but by several businesses in different industries with the same branding techniques. Most of what I’ve learned came from experience, being humble enough to take criticism, and always most importantly remaining a student!
