Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Walzer.
Hi Jamie , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Originally from northern Illinois, I fled the winter weather for the beautiful College of Charleston where I received her BA in Corporate Communications with a minor in Business Administration.
To continue the tradition of fleeing, after graduation, I quite literally ran away with the Circus. I traveled the world first as a professional figure skater, then a Production Manager, and ultimately as a Marketing Director with Feld Entertainment’s Disney on Ice where I was based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Getting to work and travel across 45+ countries was the experience of a lifetime and one that taught me so much about different communities and cultures all over the world. I moved to Atlanta in 2012 where I transitioned into real estate as it had always been a curiosity of mine and felt like a natural next step to continue meeting new people, learning about what they want in a community and home, and helping them to put down roots in a neighborhood they love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Going on my 13th year in the business, I have now seen most markets out there. When I began sellers were often bringing thousands of dollars to the table to be able to sell after the 2008 crash and it was such a painful process to witness.
From there though we knew it could only get better! The market picked up steam and over the years move to a very strong sellers’ market. Covid was certainly the most interesting time in my career. It was a very strange position to be an ‘essential worker’ when so many friends and family were laid-off or limited in their capacities. I spent my days suiting up in booties, gloves, and a mask to show properties to clients who suddenly needed more space to work and school from home. The 2020-2022 years were some of the strongest real estate markets in Atlanta and it just felt like such a juxtaposition to what was going on with the rest of the world. It was a time filled with much gratitude for the job security while also having the ability to help people during what was such a confusing, scary, and unknown time in the world.
We’ve been impressed with Urban Nest Real Estate Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I recently purchased the Urban Nest Group from the founder, Kerry Lucasse. After beginning my career under Kerry’s mentorship and growing with the brand over the years, I am excited to take on the next step of being an Owner/Realtor. I’m excited to continue growing our website which is in the top 1% of Realtor-owned sites in Atlanta to make the online home shopping experience as easy (and stylish) as possible for home buyers and to keep providing top notch client services in the Atlanta area.
