Exploring Life & Business with Jasmine McNair of Ladies First Luxury Mobile Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine McNair.

Jasmine McNair

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hi there, my name is Jasmine McNair, and I am the owner and head bartender of Ladies First Mobile Luxury Bar LLC. I started off bartending 2 years ago with my husband and sister. My husband started his own mobile bartending company 3 years ago, and my sister and I were his top bartenders. It was these two who taught me everything there is to know about bartending.

January 2024, I decided to branch off and start my own mobile bar with the idea of putting ladies first. At that time in my life, I didn’t feel like I was being put first in my personal life with so much going on, including the passing of my grandmother in February.

I decided it was time to take my power back and represent all the woman bartenders who are often overlooked in this male-dominated industry.

I now work with several woman bartenders including my head bartenders Janay Coleman and Johanna Smith.

Together, we make Ladies First Luxury Mobile Bar LLC, and we absolutely love what we do, bringing smiles and great vibes to all events we bartend for.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to success is never truly smooth. There were many obstacles along the way, including building up my clientele and investing in bar supplies, which became very costly. Even with these speed bumps in the road, I have learned that as an entrepreneur, hard work always pays off. Being optimistic and confident, knowing everything will work out just fine, has made the journey of building another business very enjoyable.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Ladies First Luxury Mobile Bar LLC is a unique brand as we are a woman-only business. Women are often overlooked in the bar industry, and I wanted to create a business to highlight all the amazing women I know who bartend throughout the metro Atlanta area. This is what I am most proud of: to have the ability to give women the shine they deserve, all while paying them what they deserve. Ladies First Luxury Bar offers specific packages for woman who want to celebrate girls’ night in the most luxurious and fun ways. This includes events that teach women how to make easy signature cocktails and so much more.

What I am most excited about is adding amazing drink ideas and charcuterie boards to future ladies’ night events which can take place in any space and any day of the week, as Ladies First is open for business every day.

What matters most to you?
It matters to be seen and understood. Often, as an African American woman, running a business can come with a lot of pressure, stigmatizing, and fewer opportunities for funding. I just want to show the world how women of color in America are growing businesses at a faster rate than any other race, but yet, when it comes to money, we aren’t even in the race to compete with many other established businesses. We deserve more opportunities, funding, and support.
