Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Myers.
Jessica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out on a pretty traditional path—climbing the corporate ladder, checking all the boxes, and chasing the idea of success I’d been taught. But deep down, I was craving freedom. Not just financial freedom, but freedom of purpose, of time, of identity. I didn’t want to just exist in a system—I wanted to build something that outlived me.
That drive led me into real estate. I began wholesaling properties and learning how to build equity and cash flow. Over time, I co-founded a real estate investment group that acquired over $14M in commercial properties and became one of the youngest Black women to co-own a Hilton-branded hotel. On paper, it looked like I had “made it,” but behind the scenes, I was carrying a lot—financial pressures, strained partnerships, and personal grief after losing my mother.
Eventually, the weight caught up with me. I went through a season of deep loss—financial, emotional, and spiritual. But that breakdown became my breakthrough. I learned the power of gratitude. I rebuilt my life, my brand, and my mission around a new foundation—impact, clarity, and legacy.
Now, I’m the founder of Ignition Zones, where I help visionary leaders turn ideas into action, get into the right rooms, and make their boldest dreams real. I also host webinars at thedealmkr.com where we manage real estate and development projects with purpose and precision.
Whether I’m speaking on stage, developing programs, or building someone’s next big opportunity, my work is about more than deals—it’s about destiny. And now, as I prepare to become a mother myself, that mission has taken on a whole new meaning. I’m not just building wealth—I’m building legacy.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not even close. It’s been anything but smooth—and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
There have been moments of massive wins, like co-owning a Hilton hotel or helping clients raise millions for their visions. But there have also been seasons of intense pressure, loss, and isolation. At one point, I was speaking on stages and leading high-level deals, while silently battling financial instability. I had investors chasing repayment, partnerships unraveling, and legal battles around assets I helped build from the ground up.
When I lost my mother, it felt like the foundation I was standing on crumbled. I went through a season of depression and serious identity questioning. I had built so much for others—but hadn’t given myself the same grace to heal, rest, or realign.
One of the hardest moments came when I had just spoken at a major event—only to walk off stage and be told I needed to pay for access to a room I was invited into. I had maybe $20 in my account at the time. I’d just written down my biggest fear—people discovering I was “broke.” And just like that, the fear met me at the door.
But here’s the thing: that was the turning point. That was the moment I realized that everything I needed—faith, clarity, resilience—was already within me. That moment didn’t break me. It revealed me.
So no, the road hasn’t been smooth. But every crack in the pavement became a lesson, and every setback became a setup. That’s why I now teach others how to navigate uncertainty, reclaim power, and rebuild—because I’ve lived it, and I know the road leads somewhere beautiful if you just keep walking.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Ignition Zones is more than just a business—it’s a movement. It was born from my own journey of loss, rebuilding, and rediscovery, and it’s now a space where visionary leaders come to reignite their purpose, clarify their vision, and confidently execute bold ideas.
At our core, we help people ignite what’s already inside of them. Whether that’s through coaching, courses, PR strategy, event production, or powerful storytelling, we specialize in taking someone’s raw vision and turning it into something real, marketable, and magnetic. We don’t just motivate—we help you move. From hesitation to execution. From imposter syndrome to authority.
What sets us apart is that we blend strategy with soul. You’re not just getting a checklist or a pitch deck—you’re getting deep clarity, honest coaching, and a team that sees your potential before the world does. We’ve helped clients go from having an idea to raising millions in funding, landing Forbes features, or building nationally recognized brands. But we’ve also helped people stand taller, speak with more confidence, and walk into rooms they never thought they belonged in—until they realized they did.
We’re most proud of the fact that Ignition Zones creates transformation. Real, measurable, internal and external growth. Our clients don’t just get results—they become the kind of person who attracts results.
We offer:
Digital courses and workbooks to help people get started with clarity.
“Work the Room” trainings and media coaching to help leaders own their presence and tell their story.
Custom consulting and PR strategy for entrepreneurs ready to scale their visibility and influence.
And now, we’re expanding into event production and documentary storytelling—capturing the journeys of visionaries in motion.
At Ignition Zones, we believe you don’t need to have it all together—you just need to be willing to start the fire. We’ll help you keep it lit.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a visionary—even before I had the words for it. I was curious, observant, and always asking why. I could see things in people that they didn’t always see in themselves, and I had this inner drive to bring ideas to life—whether it was organizing neighborhood plays, leading school projects, or dreaming up businesses with my friends.
I was a blend of creative and analytical. I loved storytelling and performance, but I was also fascinated by how things worked—systems, strategies, and psychology. I could get lost in my imagination, but I also had a strong sense of responsibility. If something needed to be done, I’d step up—even if I had to figure it out along the way.
I was also deeply empathetic. I felt things deeply, and I cared about people. That made me a great listener, even as a kid. I could feel when someone needed encouragement or when they were holding back. That same emotional intelligence is what guides my work today—it helps me see the whole person, not just the surface.
Looking back, all the seeds of what I do now—vision casting, helping people show up boldly, storytelling, and leadership—they were already there. I was just figuring out how to name it.
