Exploring Life & Business with Jordan Williams of SoJo Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Williams.

Hi Jordan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Originally I’m from a small town called Inwood, West Virginia. We moved there when I was six and I stayed until sophomore year of college. Growing up there was great but with age, I realized that there was more to life outside of mountains and country roads. My passion was for the beauty industry, not my major at the time. There were signs that led to me wanting the city life. So, after the semester ended I packed everything in my college apartment into my car and moved to Georgia. That was two years ago.

When I arrived in Atlanta the goal was to hit the ground running. From having to attend esthetician school, obtain my license, and gain experience. The program took a year to complete factoring in some delays of the pandemic. Yet I persevered and officially became licensed in 2020. For some time I worked at great company in the Atlanta area. This gave me the opportunity to advance my skills and build clientele. Also to explore which services I enjoyed.

Although working there was enjoyable, I didn’t want to get sidetracked from my ultimate goal. Which was to have my own suite to work from and be able to give a personalized guest experience. Honestly, I didn’t think it would happen so quickly. When searching for my aesthetic home I found something within three days that I loved. The grand opening of SoJo Aesthetics was in September of 2021. Waking up knowing that I’m living in my purpose and get to do work that makes others feel good about themselves makes me grateful. I’m excited to see where I’ll be with my business in the next few months there’s a lot planned so stay tuned. And book your appointment to check us out in person! Instagram: estie.jo

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the struggles for me was the pandemic. My program was originally set to complete in 11 months and took 14 in actuality. I was in my last module of school when talk of covid first came about and it set graduation back. It was discouraging because the finish line was so close. However, I’m grateful in a way it gave me more time to prepare for state boards.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about SoJo Aesthetics?
I’m a licensed esthetician working out of my own salon suite in Marietta. I specialize in full body waxing, lash extensions and brow tint. Clients love that I offer speed waxing which gets them in and out while still achieving great results. With lash extensions, I customize each set for every client to produce the best results for them and their lashes. Brow tinting is one of my favorite services because I love seeing client reactions. Eyebrows really shape and bring the face to life so giving people that boost of confidence is an honor. My company is about providing each of my clients their own personalized experience and not a one fit for all beauty standards.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
It was definitely a risk dropping out of college and moving from my hometown to pursue my dreams. There were so many ways it could have not worked out. I always tell people it was a leap of faith. To me, you get one life to live so you really have to do what’s best for you and ignore outside opinions.
