Hi Joydan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely. I’m originally from Woodbridge, Virginia, and my path really started to take shape when I attended Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. I majored in Communications with a concentration in Production, and I graduated in 2016 with my Bachelor of Arts. Even though production was my focus, everything shifted when I took my first Public Relations course—that was the class that sparked something in me and revealed what my true passion was.
Before college, I earned my cosmetology license in high school, and that skill became a lifeline. Doing hair and makeup helped support me through school, and later, when I moved to Atlanta in October 2018, that same creativity opened doors in ways I couldn’t have predicted. My beauty background got me into rooms, built connections, and ultimately aligned me with the entertainment industry I now work in every day.
In 2018, I officially stepped into that passion and co-founded Premier Quality Public Relations with my sister, LaQuasia Jackson—who actually started off as my longtime college friend before becoming family. Together, we built a PR agency specializing in media relations, brand development, red carpet and event coverage, talent relations, press strategy, crisis communication, and full-scale publicity support for clients in entertainment and culture.
I’ve always loved helping people shine, but I’ve never needed to be the one in the spotlight. PR allows me to operate behind the scenes while still making a major impact—amplifying voices, telling powerful stories, and creating moments that move people. That’s what drives me every single day. My journey has been about passion, creativity, resilience, and always trusting my gifts—even the ones I didn’t realize would shape my future.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely, it hasn’t always been smooth. The entertainment industry is notoriously tough to break into, and getting your foot in the door can feel nearly impossible at times. As an entrepreneur, especially starting Premier Quality Public Relations with my sister LaQuasia, the financial side of things can be challenging. You’re chasing a dream, but you also have to turn it into a sustainable reality. Despite the struggles, I’ve learned that persistence, creativity, and staying true to my passion for helping people behind the scenes are what keep me moving forward every day.

Premier Quality Public Relations isn’t your typical PR firm—we’re creatively driven, bold, and all about making an impact. My sister LaQuasia and I launched the company in 2018, and we specialize in full-service public relations for the entertainment industry, including media relations, brand strategy, social media amplification, event management, and influencer partnerships. What sets us apart is our hands-on approach: we don’t just promote our clients, we tell their stories in ways that are authentic, strategic, and unforgettable.
I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built and the doors we’ve helped open for artists, entertainers, and brands. At Premier Quality, we thrive behind the scenes, making sure every detail aligns with our clients’ vision while delivering results that turn dreams into reality. Our brand is all about creativity, precision, and elevating our clients in ways that truly stand out in a crowded industry.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always sweet, innocent, and incredibly creative. I had a natural curiosity and a love for expressing myself, though I didn’t always know exactly how I wanted to channel it. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be in the entertainment industry. I was always drawn to beauty—doing hair, experimenting with makeup—and I loved creating and performing in my own little ways, like hosting my own talk shows or recording music on my tape player. Those early experiences really shaped my passion for storytelling and helping others shine.
