Today we’d like to introduce you to Juanita Woodson.
Hi Juanita, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started writing when I was a young girl, I’ve always been able to express myself through writing. The love I have for writing stayed with me as I grew up, and really helped me to navigate through some pretty uncomfortable seasons in my life. My first book, Don’t Go That Way: Protect Your Purpose was released back in 2017; this book launched me into something greater.
I was able to use my gift and passion for writing to help others share their stories. One thing I’ve learned is that your purpose in life is not just for you. Navigating those tough seasons in my life gave me a new purpose and helped me to establish my company, Grace 4 Purpose, Publishing Co.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Certainly not. There have definitely been times where I have second guessed myself and wanted to throw in the towel. Some of the struggles I faced was finding balance, navigating the ups and downs of business and overcoming self-doubt. Navigating those challenges has not been easy, but one thing we must do in life is continue moving forward. I was able to find balance in my business by getting organized and disciplined. When you want more, you have to move different, right?
The ups and downs of business can cause anyone to have self-doubt. I’ve had to learn to control what I can control when it comes to business and learn how to pivot, quickly. Remembering my why and that I was created to help others walk in their purpose has helped me overcome self-doubt. My daily mantra is: “All your hard work will pay off, keep grindin and stay focused!”
