Exploring Life & Business with The Sexy Red Brand

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sexy Red Magic City.

Hi Sexy Red Magic City, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
How I got started? Well, let’s first start with the fact that I was a dancer for already well over 15 years at the time I started my first twerk page. I started a twerk page because I am also a cobbler and knew social media was a way I could eventually market and promote my stilettos. I married my dancer name to the world-famous Magic City and the magic began to happen! I had one goal in mind when I started the page but eventually, many other opportunities were discovered along the way., including this very one right here. I currently have almost 800K followers on IG, over 278K on TikTok, am also on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. I wrote a book about stripper etiquette that I will be dropping in the very near future. I am a multiple business owner with thriving shops on both Shopify and Amazon. There is so much more to tell and I can’t wait! 😊

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It absolutely has NOT been a smooth road! lol First, getting used to the trolls. You really have to desensitize yourself when navigating these territories. Second, the most surprising thing that I never expected to have to change, was being too sexy. That first Instagram page I mentioned I had, was disabled at 211K because it was too sexy. In other words, seeing all that was on these platforms made you feel like it was okay but then you have to think about the kids. Although twerk is culture, everyone is not allowed to partake in the fun. These social media platforms are most certainly, biased. Another obstacle is when people infringe upon your copyright; that has been a major feat for me. And the most recent realization that being too sexy, and how you present whatever the product, can negatively affect the ability to market and promote said product(s) and ultimately negatively affect sales.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Sexy Red Brand is basically all things Sexy Red. Again, Sexy Red was my dancer name. As a dancer, I became very well known for the way I moved; for my ability to twerk. The Sexy Red Brand is multifaceted brand that embodies the combination of being an entertainer/content creation, networking, marketing/advertising/promotion for other brands whether retail and independent artists, author/narrator: “21 Principles of How To Be a Successful Career Stripper”, and e-commerce store owner.

How do you define success?
So you hear and see on social media, gurus say the definition of success is about your happiness. And I agree. But to elaborate, my definition of success is accomplishing goals you set. When you set goals and you achieve them, then the result is, you are happy. (speaking in very general terms). You’re really supposed to enjoy the process along the way as well. And I don’t think it’s about achieving every single one of those goals because things change and that’s ok. The important thing is quality over quantity. You don’t HAVE to achieve every goal you have set for yourself, focus on what brings you the most joy…that’s a success.
