Exploring Life & Business with Kathy Springer of Springer Senior Solutions of Paulding LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Springer.

Hi Kathy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
💙 My Journey: From Insurance Rookie to Medicare Advocate

I started in the insurance world on August 4, 1997, with zero knowledge about the industry—just a gut feeling during my interview that said, “This is what I’m meant to do.”

I was hungry to learn. No one offered to train me, so I took it upon myself to soak in everything I could. That drive led me to a 16-year career managing accounts for a Union in Upstate NY—a job that gave me experience, but not purpose.

One day I just didn’t feel like I was living in my purpose so I simply put my hands together and asked God to show me where I was meant to be. When you ask with an open heart, you’d be surprised how fast He answers.

📬 A week later, I received an email about a role as an enroller for Obamacare at Rite Aid. I spoke to the only person I trusted —Karen, my mentor and former colleague. She’d always believed in me and once called me her protégé. With her blessing, I left my job and walked into the unknown.

October 1, 2013, I began a new chapter. Obamacare didn’t roll out immediately, so I lived off my 401k account while searching for a way to serve. Karen referred me to a Medicare broker. I wasn’t a fan of the broker—but I found the path I was meant to be on. Medicare became my mission.

🙏 I had always dreamed of living in the South, but I wasn’t willing to leap without a plan. God had one.

I connected with an insurance broker in Georgia, visited, and felt home in a way I never had before. I moved to Smyrna, GA within weeks. No hesitation. Just peace.

🏡 I settled in Paulding County in 2018 with my partner, John (funny story—we met on Tinder in 2016, and he’s from Buffalo, NY) and opened Springer Senior Solutions of Paulding in 2019. The Chamber of Commerce welcomed me with open arms and hosted my ribbon-cutting. We didn’t have a brick-and-mortar office yet—but we had purpose.

I told John in March 2019, “Next year, we’ll own a home.” And on March 2, 2020, we signed the papers for our house in Hiram. Which rooted me here in Paulding county.

In January 2025, I opened my office in Hiram. Today, I serve as an Ambassador for the Paulding Chamber, helping others build meaningful connections—just like I did.

❤️ Why I Do This Work

I’m not simply a licensed agent—I’m a Medicare Advocate. I guide seniors (and their caregivers) through a system that can be confusing, stressful, and downright overwhelming.

I treat every client like I would my own parents. I answer the late-night “What is this bill?” calls. I explain benefits in plain English. I celebrate savings, and I help navigate tough decisions.

Because this is my purpose.

✨ One of my favorite stories: In 2015, I met Brenda. In 2018, I met Howard. In 2021, I felt a nudge to introduce them. Today? They’re madly in love. Brenda is 76. Howard is 82. It’s never too late to find happiness—and it starts by loving yourself first.

💬 Final Thoughts

I’m one of six siblings. My parents were married 55 years before my dad passed away in 2018—just 42 days after my oldest brother. It was a hard year, but it reminded me how precious time is.

I have one son, Matthew 36—my world. 💙

Every twist and turn in my story led me to this calling: helping people with compassion, clarity, and humor.

If you or someone you love is navigating Medicare and feeling overwhelmed, I’d be honored to be your guide.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I hope what I wrote in the first question, sums this up too. The journey to GA was freeing, I just felt it was meant to be and I was not afraid at all. I knew God had my back. Something only those who know him, know what I’m talking about. It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

All the pics aside from my first pic are selfies. I would like to add more pics if possible. These are just to show how much I love helping and doing for my seniors who then become friends. My headshot was taken a two years ago, I’m in the process of getting a new one but won’t have in time for this article to run.
