Exploring Life & Business with Keionna Burton of Youth Legends

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keionna Burton.

Keionna Burton

Hi Keionna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got into the Entrepreneurial world at an early age. I was 16 years old when I opened my jewelry business. It went very well and from there, I have been able to open my tutoring and mentorship business along with my commercial cleaning franchise. I want to specifically speak on my tutoring and mentorship business. This business is called Youth Legends. I started this business because the school system only teaches children how to succeed in one way, which is to go to college, get into debt, and work a job for the rest of their life. I believe there are multiple ways to be successful in life; this is why I teach about credit, passive income, and other ways to make money at a young age. When I was growing up, I made straight As I even graduated high school a year early and was the Salutatorian. I was also accepted into the #1 HBCU, Spelman College. I want to teach students that it is possible to get through high school to better themselves.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a bumpy road for me. I’ve had some really good months and some really bad months of trying to juggle school and both of my businesses, but I learned to balance everything; now I will be graduating college a year early as well.

We’ve been impressed with Youth Legends, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a tutoring/ mentorship business where I teach about schoolwork, credit, passive income, high-yield saving accounts, creating businesses, and secondary options to succeed in life. I want the readers to know that everything I am teaching your child is to help them succeed in life. I teach about these topics because we are not taught them in school, and the way inflation has gone up, more children need to know there’s more to life than working 12-hour shifts for $12/hr.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being able to help my community succeed because as a black female, I grew up watching alot of my friends drop out of school and console into drugs.
