Hi Kendra , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The story of Define Skin Studio began long before I opened my doors. I first stepped into the beauty industry as a makeup artist, where I fell in love with the way enhancing someone’s look could instantly boost their confidence. But over time, I realized I wanted to create a longer-term impact—not just cover up concerns for a day, but help people truly transform their skin. That passion led me to become a licensed esthetician and laser practitioner, specializing in corrective skincare and advanced treatments.

When the pandemic occurred, everything shifted. Overnight, I could no longer welcome clients into the studio, and it was heartbreaking to feel disconnected from the people I was used to caring for. That challenge sparked a new vision: if my clients couldn’t come to me, I would create something that could go home with them. Out of that moment, Define Skin Rx was born—a professional skincare line designed to bring results-driven care straight into my clients’ hands.

What started as a pause in the treatment room turned into an expansion of my purpose. Today, Define Skin Studio continues to provide personalized, corrective treatments in-office, while Define Skin Rx ensures clients can maintain and elevate their results from home. Together, they represent my mission: helping people achieve healthy, radiant skin that lasts beyond the moment.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a solo esthetician, I had no team, no marketing budget, and no one to delegate tasks to — it was all on me. I wore every hat, managed every detail, and pushed through long days that often stretched late into the night, fueled by trial and error, self-teaching, and unwavering determination.

Creating my own skincare line was even more of a test. I didn’t have a blueprint or a mentor to walk me through the process. I had to figure out everything from formulation to packaging, compliance to branding, with nothing but research, prayer, and persistence. Every obstacle pushed me to dig deeper, every setback challenged me to rise stronger, and every small win reminded me why I started.

I share this because it’s proof that even without resources, a team, or marketing, dreams are still possible when fueled by purpose and faith. What once felt impossible slowly became reality. And today, when I look at my studio and skincare line, I see more than just a business — I see resilience, courage, and a reminder that the struggle was worth it.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When I created Define Skin Studio, I wanted it to be more than just another place to get a facial — I wanted it to be a space where skin health, education, and luxury care meet. At my studio, I specialize in laser hair removal, advanced corrective treatments for anti-aging, hyperpigmentation, and overall skin rejuvenation. Every protocol is designed to blend clinical results with a deeply relaxing, bespoke experience, so clients never have to choose between results and self-care.

Alongside the studio, I developed Define Skin Rx, my professional skincare line. I built this line from the ground up — intentionally formulating products that deliver clinical-grade results while being safe, effective, and easy to use at home. It’s not just skincare in a bottle; it’s an extension of the studio experience, giving clients the ability to maintain and elevate their results long after they leave my treatment room.

What sets me apart is that I’ve done all of this as a solo esthetician. I didn’t have a team, investors, or marketing campaigns behind me — only vision, persistence, and the drive to create something meaningful. Every detail, from the studio’s signature facials to the ingredients in each product, reflects my commitment to education, results, and empowerment.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve built something authentic and lasting from the ground up. My brand stand as proof that with passion, expertise, and consistency, you can redefine what’s possible in skincare. For me, it’s not just about treatments or products — it’s about helping people see their skin in its best light and giving them the confidence to glow inside and out.

When I started Define Skin Studio and Define Skin Rx, I didn’t have the resources, the connections, or the team. What I did have was a vision, persistence, and faith. Every obstacle taught me resilience, every setback shaped my strength, and every win — no matter how small — became fuel to keep going.
