Exploring Life & Business with Kimberly Jordan of Air Jordan Travel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Jordan.

Hi Kimberly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for travel began at a young age. Traveling with family during summer breaks ultimately sparked a passion to pursue all things travel even further as I grew older. Before I launched Air Jordan Travel, I would post my travels on social media regularly as a way to introduce other parts of the world to those who do not travel. I felt like the world is too big and too beautiful to keep to myself; I still feel that way. I noticed that when I posted my trips on social media more and more people would reach out to me about traveling. I would get questions such as how to apply for a passport, how to pack a carry-on, where to celebrate a milestone, just to name a few. I soon began to realize that travel may be overwhelming for someone who does not travel often. From that point, I began making travel arrangements for friends and family and had the idea to no longer treat it as a hobby. There are a lot of moving parts when planning your travel, whether local or abroad. This is truly something that I love to do so my goal is to make the planning process as seamless as possible. All that’s left for you to focus on is the unforgettable experience.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Just like with any business, there are definitely struggles and challenges. The biggest challenge that I faced so far was during the pandemic. Air Jordan Travel was tasked with keeping up to date with COVID requirements and protocols, which was constantly updating and changing depending on location, country and restrictions. There were many canceled trips because of all of the unknowns of COVID. My travelers and I experienced staffing shortages, long hold times and last-minute cancellations. Initially, the challenge was with both domestic and international travel but when restrictions were lifted domestically, I was able to strongly highlight some amazing locations in the U.S. and various U.S. territories. This allowed me to keep my travelers engaged and provide them with a memorable travel experience domestically. I was still able to visit different international vacation locations to preview new incentives for anticipated travelers. Once travel restrictions were lifted for both domestic and international, we were happily overwhelmed but not surprised by the response and need to travel. Because I have a real passion for travel, Air Jordan Travel was able to pivot during times of struggle and uncertainty.
