Today we’d like to introduce you to Kodwo Ewusi.
Hi Kodwo, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Over two decades ago, at fourteen years old, I arrived in the United States believing it was the land of milk and honey with streets paved with gold. Like so many immigrant families, we came carrying hope, sacrifice, and an unshakable belief in opportunity. The reality we encountered was far more difficult. My father, a renowned professor in our home country, worked at a gas station. Our family of five lived in a one-bedroom apartment. The American dream felt distant — but never impossible.
My parents refused to let hardship define our future. Their resilience became the blueprint for our lives. They taught us that dignity is not measured by circumstance, but by perseverance. Within ten years of arriving, their sacrifices bore fruit: I was in law school on my path to becoming a naturalized citizen, my sister was practicing medicine as a physician, and my brother had become a chemical engineer. Our family’s story became living proof that struggle can be the foundation of extraordinary achievement.
Those experiences ignited my life’s calling. I chose the law not simply as a profession, but as a mission — to stand beside immigrants navigating the same system that once challenged my own family. I am driven by the belief that when immigrants are given a fair opportunity to live and work legally, they do more than change their own lives; they transform the future of entire generations.
That conviction led to the founding of Fibi Law Firm — For Immigrants, By Immigrants. Today, the firm is a rapidly growing immigration practice with six locations along the East Coast, from Manhattan, New York to Atlanta, Georgia. Our work is rooted in empathy, experience, and unwavering advocacy. Every case we handle is a reminder of why we exist: to help families build stability, reclaim hope, and pursue the promise that brought them to this country in the first place.
We’ve been impressed with Fibi Law Firm. Fibi – For Immigrants by Immigrants , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What makes you happy?
Personally, my greatest joy is watching my children play without a care in the world and seeing my family enjoy the fruits of our labor. Those moments are quiet reminders of how far we’ve come and why the sacrifices were worth it. They represent security, opportunity, and the fulfillment of dreams that once felt distant.
Professionally, my purpose is rooted in changing lives. Every immigrant I represent is a reflection of my own family’s journey. Through immigration advocacy, I strive not only to secure legal status, but to open doors to work, stability, and opportunity. Helping families build futures, support their loved ones, and claim their place in this country is more than my career — it is the continuation of the dream that shaped my own life.
