Hi Lakesha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Lace Kouture Boutique LLC. was built off low self-esteem. Being a plus-size young lady along with body shaming was very HARD!! Growing up. It wasn’t until I became a plus-size model and start feeling confident in my skin and loving who I was. Then it hit me like Kesha! You need to help others battling with this same issue. Also, we as parents need to show and teach our kids that their beautiful no matter WHAT!! My purpose is to bring body positivity awareness near and far to all women, build up their confidence to an all HIGH through fashion. We are more than just a boutique; we are a community a sisterhood. For the record LACE stands for Love Acceptance Conquers Everything!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Omgggg. I never thought in a million years that it would be this challenging. I thought after I got my business registered and my other documents it was going to be easy; Well I was wrong!! After connecting to my local small business center, I learned so much. I begin to research topics on business and joined online and in-person seminars. That’s when I realize this business career is not for the faint in heart. I have experienced roadblocks from marketing, conversion rates, and financial literacy to building a brand. I’m grateful for it because I have educated myself on the bigger picture of what it means to own and operate a business. I can say every day I learn something new and I love it… Anything to help take my business to a higher level in the fashion industry.

Lace Kouture Boutique LLC. is an online plus-size clothing boutique who caters to sizes 1x-3x. We are located in Thomasville, NC. Where we offer private shopping for our clients. You work late “don’t worry we gotcha” you need to come on your lunch break “don’t worry we gotcha”. This is what sets us apart from others. We’re here for all your needs and just want to make sure your overall experience is great. I’m so proud of the women we have impacted along their journey helping them build their self-esteem up. I can’t stress it enough on how we are more than a boutique. We are a community who thrives on body positivity and confidence. In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see us global and having a huge body positivity movement. I also see us collaborating with some amazing individuals in the industry. One of my visions I have for Lace Kouture Boutique is to partake in New York fashion week. I also look forward to bringing my creativity to life. I have been working on view customize pieces as well, I don’t sew or draw but I can sketch. So I’m SUPER EXCITED!! I have a few other things I’m working on, one is us selling on Amazon. That’s major for us and could be a great marketing potential as well. The Biggest outlook of them all is I’m looking forward to expanding and creating a platform for others to work in a sacred place.
