Hi LaShondra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2020, my best friend and I started a podcast called Poppin’ After Thirty. We met so many amazing content creators who have created their own lanes and were thriving. It was then, I decided that I wanted to create a space where creators could connect with other creators and have the resources, they needed to create content. Thus, One:11 Studios was born, a content studio with 6 beautifully designed private production suites that are perfect for podcasts, photo & video shoots, interviews, meetings, and co-working!
At the beginning of this year, as I was getting ready to open One:11 Studios, I was laid off from my position as a project manager. This was very devastating as I have never been unemployed, but I believe that God doesn’t make any mistakes! I proceeded as planned and continued with my Grand Opening and the outpouring of love and support was overwhelming. As I continue on this journey of entrepreneurship, I have had the pleasure of networking with so many creators and have continued to grow my business in this new and upcoming industry. I am just getting started!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the struggles I have had to face is finding genuine vendors who are honest and give fair pricing.
As a new business owner, it could be difficult to develop relationships with other business owners and some people just want to take advantage. If you find a vendor who is honest and fair, stick with them, build a relationship and do right by them!

My background is in Project Management, I have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and have had 10 years of experience working on healthcare construction projects in Atlanta.
I created One: 11 Studios to be the ultimate creative space for content creators! Our six private suites are perfect for bringing your vision to life, whether it’s through podcasts, film, photography, meetings, events, or co-working. Our facility offers private suites with coded locks for peace of mind. Free amenities such as Wi-Fi, printing, scanning, and faxing, as well as complimentary coffee, tea, water, and snacks.
Our facility is cleaned and sanitized regularly to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all. Plus, we have free open parking for added convenience. We also offer lighting equipment, photography backdrops, and podcast mics for rent to get creators started.
I’m most proud of the design of the space, this was my first time interior designing a space and it came out amazing! What sets us apart from the other Content Studios is the fact that we target the entry-level content creator. The creators who are just started and is in need of community support and resources to help them grow.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Becoming a business owner is a risk because there are so many factors within the business that you have to be successful at to have an overall successful business.
For example, you can start a business that has had proven success such as a hair salon, but if you fail at marketing, customer retention, skills, reputation, and a lack of business acumen, you may fail at your business. The first step is risky, but it’s even more of a risk to not invest in the things that will make your business thrive.
