Exploring Life & Business with Mac Argumedo of North Georgia Cabinets & Countertops

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mac Argumedo.

Mac, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After many years of supervisory job experiences, Mac began working for the previous owner of Industrial Quartz & Granite in 2020. He caught onto the countertop fabrication, installation and customer service work quickly. Within a few months he was able to work in a supervisory role with his team. After about a year his boss wanted to sell the business and made the offer to Mac. After some prayer, seeking advice from trusted colleagues in the industry, and talking it over with his wife, Briana, the decision was made to purchase and begin running the business in October of 2021. Since that time Mac, Briana, and their team have worked to serve customers in the North GA, Chattanooga, and surrounding areas by meeting all of their countertop needs. They offer quartz, granite, and marble selections for remodels, new builds, and outdoor spaces. In September of 2024 the business was expanded to include cabinetry for customers, as well, with a variety of styles and colors. Once cabinetry was added to their collection of product offerings, the business changed their name to North Georgia Cabinets & Countertops in January of 2025.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a somewhat smooth road. There have been, of course, adjustments and things to learn along the way, as with any new venture. One of the perks of taking over a previously owned business is that it came with a great customer and contractor base. Because Mac worked as an employee with the business before becoming the owner, he was able to continue to work with people that already knew and trusted him. This made the transfer of ownership smoother for everyone involved. This established base aided in Mac’s confidence to move forward in expanding and creating new work relationships.

In business you hear all the time that you are only as good as your team. Thankfully, after some turnaround in the beginning, Mac and Briana have been able to assemble a trustworthy, hard-working team that is committed to great work and customer satisfaction. They are grateful for the people that work with them daily.

Another challenge that always exists when running your own business is in figuring out the best way to advertise and get your name in front of people. The business has been blessed with customers that have been satisfied with their work and willingly refer them to their friends, family, co-workers, and other contractors. Word of mouth referrals have been a huge blessing in helping them grow their business, and they are grateful to the customers that choose to do so.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about North Georgia Cabinets & Countertops?
We are a countertop and cabinet company. We offer quartz, granite, and marble selections for remodels, new builds, and outdoor spaces. In September of 2024 the business was expanded to include cabinetry for customers, as well, with a variety of styles and colors.

What sets us apart is that we are a small, family-owned, local business. When customers come to our showroom they will be greeted by Mac or Briana to discuss their needs and desires for their space. Either Mac or Briana will go through all available stone and cabinet options with each customer. Customers can be sure that they will understand the product they are receiving, how to best maintain them, and make the decision that is best for their space. Mac will be the one to template the customers’ spaces, and he will work closely with the customer and our team to ensure their tops and cabinets meet their expectations. We also do our own fabrication and installation. We do not hire third party fabrication/installation crews. All of our fabrication work is done in-house, and is installed by the same team that fabricated their countertops or assembled their cabinets.

We feel very confident and proud of the fact that our customers are able to have access to the owner of the company they are choosing for their cabinets and countertops. Mac will work diligently to answer customer questions, advise on best products, solve problems if they arise, and ensure our customers are happy when the job has been completed.

How do you think about luck?
Mac does not believe in good luck, but, rather, in good work. Mac, Briana, and their team show up daily and are committed to completing good and consistent work. They have spent the last 4.5 years honing the customer service, fabrication, & installation processes to make this part of a customer’s construction or remodel experience as smooth as possible. They have seen first-hand that “practice makes perfect, ” being open to learning new things, and learning from challenging situations that arise from time to time helps make them a great team and be able to put out excellent work.
