Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus James Donald.
Hi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello my name is Marcus James Donald and first and foremost I give all the credit to God and I want to tell you all about my story I have been wanting to be an actor since I was in elementary school in the second grade and I started off as a being model back in the month of July 2019 and I would come up with ideas for a photo shoot from time to time to see where this process would take place. Back in 2020 when covid hit I had to slow down the process and take my time and I had some doubts here and there but I used that to push myself harder and I got into acting in 2021 and I work at a hospital and I would work out my schedule with my supervisor Roger Krebs and I give him a huge thanks for allowing me to follow my dream and goals. I have been getting into more bookings for film and working on auditions to get myself out there and I just stay focused and prayed up because I know that everything will fall into place at the right time and I believe God will make a way. And I want to give a special thanks to family members for supporting me as well my photographers and my supervisor I wouldn’t be where I’m at today if it wasn’t for them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can say that I was so many challenges I had to face especially when it comes to doing auditions and how I get into I say to myself “ how do I play this character and what are they looking for to see who this person is will he fit the role” and I would also say that these challenges are not easy at all because it’s going to be hard to see where you have to start work and build your way up and that will always be a challenge cause I still have to learn and be able to prepare myself what challenges are thrown at me to go even further.
Please tell us more about your work. What should we know? What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for? What sets you apart from others? What are you most proud brand wise? What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc?
My work is definitely not easy I still work a full time job at the hospital as a patient transporter but I love the work that I do as model and actor because it’s always been my dream and to see how the actors maneuver to get more experience and having folks look up to me and that’s why I love the work that I do now because I won’t give up on what I started. I’m proud of being apart of film productions and companies and actually showing that I can be the person they are looking for in the role of a character and I would drive back and forth to Atlanta and Nashville for bookings and that’s a lot of work but at the same time I understand that’s part of the journey and when there’s opportunities it’s up to you whether you go for because you may not get that chance again. I want the readers to know that when they speak into existence and talk about what they want to do in life they can actually do it by putting in a lot of work, dedication and sacrifices.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was that I was in elementary school and my teacher assigned a project to the class and the assignment was “what do we want to be when we grow up” and the next day my father came to my school to see the assignment and I put on a couple acts from some movies I watched and it clicked into my teacher’s head and I told her that I wanted to be an actor and I look back now and say dreams do come true and I think about childhood memory almost everyday and it’s here and knowing the work will definitely speak for itself.
