Born and raised in Jamaica, Marwyn grew up facing extreme hardship, no running water, no electricity, limited food, and long nights studying by candlelight. At 21, he arrived in the U.S. with one pair of shoes, a single outfit, and the determination to rewrite his future.
Through grit, long hours, and relentless self-education, Marwyn climbed from entry-level warehouse jobs to a decade-long career in Information Technology and Cybersecurity with brands including Amazon and Truist.
Even while battling a chronic autoimmune health condition, Marwyn maintained a 3.8 GPA, earned numerous cybersecurity certifications, and became a respected Operations, Automation, and Information Security expert.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As a CEO, I don’t view risk as something to avoid; I view it as something to understand, measure, and manage. In business, avoiding risk entirely usually means avoiding growth. That said, I don’t believe in reckless risk-taking. My approach has always been calculated, strategic risk, grounded in data, experience, and long-term vision.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was building 15X Business Solutions with a model that intentionally blends strategy, technology, and execution rather than offering just one service. Early on, that meant investing time, capital, and credibility into systems like CRM infrastructure, automation, AI solutions, and multi-channel marketing, before many of our clients fully understood or requested those capabilities. It would have been safer to stay narrow, but I believed the market was moving toward integrated solutions, and businesses would eventually demand partners who could support growth holistically.
That risk required betting on future demand, training teams, building internal systems, and educating the market, all without immediate payoff. But it ultimately positioned 15X as a long-term partner rather than a short-term vendor, which has become a key differentiator for us.
Another risk I’ve taken repeatedly is choosing process and compliance over speed. Whether it’s access control, data security, or client systems, I’ve intentionally slowed things down at times to build scalable, secure, and compliant foundations. In the short term, that can feel like a risk, especially when competitors move faster, but in the long run, it protects the business, the clients, and the brand.
Overall, my philosophy is that risk is unavoidable, but unmanaged risk is dangerous. I take risks when:
The upside clearly outweighs the downside
There’s a way to mitigate or contain potential loss
The risk aligns with our mission and long-term strategy
I believe the best leaders aren’t the ones who avoid risk, they’re the ones who take responsibility for it, plan for it, and learn quickly when conditions change.
