Hi Mwt Het Heru Baktiba, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and my journey into spirituality has been nothing short of transformative. I was initiated into the Nu Auset Temple by my godmother, Shta Mwt Ur Djheuty Ari Tchet Dua, to whom I offer boundless gratitude and praise. I would not be the woman I am today, if it wasn’t for her wisdom, guidance and devotion. Duau (Thank you so much) During this initiation, I received the name Bakenre, meaning “servant of God.” Working with the Ntru has been an incredible honor, completely transforming my life.
That same year, I embraced Kemetic spirituality and attended the Ra Sekhi Kemetic Reiki retreat, completing Levels One and Two. I deeply honor Mwt Kajara for her incredible legacy. Thank you Rekhit. The healing I experienced there, alongside my sisters and brothers, was life-changing and inspired me to step into a greater role of service. It became clear to me that assisting and supporting others in their healing journey was my calling, so I committed myself to becoming a Reiki Seba.
In 2024, I was humbled and honored to be recognized as Ra Sekhi’s Healer of the Year. This milestone reaffirmed my purpose and dedication. Later, I took the next step in my spiritual evolution by being initiated as a Kemetic Priestess. Words cannot fully capture the depth of my gratitude for this work. Assisting and supporting others in restoring Maat (truth, balance, and harmony) to their lives has been the most rewarding experience of my journey.
For me, this path is sacred. Guiding others through purification, restoration, and the process of reconnecting with the Ntru is a responsibility I hold with the utmost respect. My journey to where I am now has been paved with consistent healing, unwavering trust in spirit, and deep reverence for my ancestors and guides.
Living righteously and staying devoted to my spiritual work is not just a choice—it’s my way of life. I am here to raise the vibration of this planet and assist others in embracing their divine light.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has been anything but smooth for me—I’ve faced countless struggles along the way. One of my biggest challenges has been overcoming my natural shyness. I’ve always been more of an observer than a talker, preferring to stay in the background. Speaking in front of people and allowing myself to be seen and heard felt like a monumental struggle. Learning how to articulate my thoughts and express myself clearly has been a significant hurdle, but I knew that as a priestess, I would need to step into rooms full of people and guide them on their healing journeys.
Another challenge was unlearning deeply ingrained patterns and habits from my childhood. Reprogramming my mindset and breaking free from limiting beliefs was no easy task. I had to learn to believe in myself—to truly feel worthy of my hopes, wishes, and dreams coming to fruition.
Perhaps the greatest struggle, though, was learning to trust my intuition. Recognizing the power within me and believing that I was chosen for a higher purpose required courage and faith. But once I embraced that truth, I knew there was no turning back. Fulfilling this calling has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my journey.
We’ve been impressed with Nurturing Souls , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My priestess duties are my life—they are the very reason I breathe. I am devoted to nurturing souls and serving the living, the dying, and the departed. I specialize in cleansing and purifying people, places, and things, dispelling unwanted energies and frequencies to create harmony and balance.
One of my key specialties is serving as a Death Doula. I hold sacred space for individuals in the final stages of life, guiding them as they transition back into the spiritual realm. Additionally, I provide grief coaching, supporting others through their healing processes and helping them navigate their journeys of loss with grace and compassion.
I also specialize in teaching Kemetic Reiki, ancestral veneration practices, and energy mastery. My mission is to empower others to take control of their energy, honor their lineage, and support others on their spiritual journeys.
What sets me apart is the deep, genuine connection I build with every soul I work with. Once we start this journey together, we are forever linked—you’ll have my unwavering support for life. (Laughs) Seriously, when we connect, trust that the bond is real and lasting. My love is pure, my energy is righteous, and I am fully aligned with the Ntr/Ntru.
I take great pride in the lives I’ve touched, the healing I’ve facilitated, and the breakthroughs I’ve witnessed. Helping people reconnect with their true selves and rediscover their purpose is what fulfills me the most.

As feminine as I am—and as much as I embrace my divine feminine energy—most people don’t know that I’ve always wanted to be a ninja! (And honestly, I still do!) There’s something about the stealth, precision, and discipline of a ninja that has always fascinated me. Who says you can’t balance grace and power, right?
