Exploring Life & Business with Nadia Miller of Performance Race Services / Tacos & Tequila 5k

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Miller .

Hi Nadia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Name is Nadia Miller GA Peach Since 1997!

I’ve been running for 20+ years, when I did my first race ever I didn’t even own any workout clothes. I did my first 5K back in 2005 in Jean shorts (can you belive that =) this past weekend I just completed 300 races!

I’ve done race distances ranging from .05K to Ironman, and longest run was 57 miles!

My hushand and I are ownes of a small business, Performance Race Services (a race timing company) and during one of our conversations I was joking about having a 5K during Cinco De Mayo weekend and giving out Tacos & Tequila. Little did I know my husband took it seriouly and ordered 500 sombreros and told me to start promoting it! Never did I image that it would sell out the first year and as a matter of fact it’s sold out every year that we hosted it. As of last year it was the largest race hosted in Suwanee Town Center. Now with its 5th year coming up we’ve needed to move it to another location to now the COOLRAY FIELD to allow more runners.

I love hosting this race because I love bringing my Mexican culture to Atlanta. We partner with the Lawrenceville Co-Op and have been able to donate 20 thounsand dollars over the years. The Lawrenceville Co-Op is a local food bank that feeds 350 families per week so every dollar makes an impact.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right?

The reason I started my running journey was because I just had my second child and when she was 2 months old I had to have an emergency surgery that left me feeling depressed.

During this time of depression I had a group of friends that invited me to do a 5K. Honestly I didn’t even know what a 5K was. I was only 27 years old and with my background from living in California and growing up we never ran for “fun”. So I signed up not knowing anything about it.

Little did I know that running was literally going to save my life! Of course I’ve had many challenges along the way, like running in extreme weather changes from freezing cold to escorching heat, financially, mentally, but my moto has always been one foot in front of the other I’ve been able to cross over 300 finish lines!

Please tell us more about your business or organization: Performace Race Services is a Race Timing Services Small Business that my husband started 12 years ago, with me joinging the business in 2018. We time races from .05K to Ultra Marathons all over Georgia and surrounding states.

What should we know? We can do as much or as little needed by the race. We can handle the entire race experiance for our clients or just provide timing services.

What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for? Providing exceptional race timing and management servies no matter the size of the event.

What sets you apart from others? We understand runners and also the needs of non profits needing to maximize their donations. We provide top of the line services and reasonable prices.

What are you most proud brand wise? We are able to help and give back to our community both financially and health wise.

What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc? We treat everyone with the same respect and service no matter size of event, purpose of event and services needed.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me about my running journey and having a business where I get to work hard and play harder.

I also get to experience this with my family and friends because there is something special about crossing a finish that is a feeling like no other.

It is a sence of accomplishment, its you against the you that you were the day before. I want to be able to bring as many people as I can to cross a finish line even if I have to bribe them with Tacos & a Margarita! 😉
