Exploring Life & Business with Nicholas McElroy of Zeppelin Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas McElroy.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Nicholas Jude McElroy (or as some know me Nicholas Jude or Nick Jude). I specialize in Low Light Photography, Live Event/Commercial Photo/Film, and Digital Marketing. I recently came on as a partner at Zeppelin Agency in Marietta, GA with Marketing and Film veterans Matt Gammon and Joe Ellis.

As a former musician and passionate artist, I pride myself on mixing creative flair with an ability to deliver the precise imagery and message my clients are look for in their projects.

I work with my corporate and enterprise clients not only to elevate their imagery and creative output but to deliver on the specific requirements of their marketing plans and business needs.

I believe a great story starts with a great picture, whether that be an idea, current place or distant memory. I love exposing the most powerful qualities of individuals through photography and deeply enriching brands with video content that not only tells the story but leaves an impact.

My work has been published in digital and physical media outlets such as People.com, CNN, E-News!, Southwest Georgia Living, Autotrader.com, KBB.com, and others.

I married in June of 2021 to my wife, Alexandra and I have two boys, Myles (10 yrs) and Jude (8 months)…. and a dog named Scout and two cats, Willow and Annabelle.

I fell in love with photography by accident a little later in life and it certainly was not even a thought as to becoming a professional photographer, but from the first shutter click, I haven’t looked back. It’s been four years now and I can honestly say photography gave me new perspective on life and in general how I look at the world around me.

I am excited to see what 2023 has in store.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Hardly. Aside from the obvious Covid-19 and all the issues that have come with it, there will always be ups and downs when you are in the creative realm, professionally. I sometimes find myself overworked one month and or scared I won’t bring in enough business the following month. Thankfully, through trial and experience, I have been able to nurture my time management skills and have gotten better about how often those highs fluctuate to lulls that seemingly never end.

In short, when you find yourself struggling to learn something new or manage what you already know, I find it best to literally take a physical step back and focus on something completely unrelated for 10-15 mins (or longer if needed) and then going back to see if I can view the issue at hand with a somewhat less anxiety-ridden mindset.

Aside from time management, my biggest hurdle in 2022 was learning better file management skills and becoming more serious about utilizing a CRM tool to manage my customers and deals in a more professional and efficient way.

I really like HubSpot, but there are a lot of great CRM platforms to choose from. If you find yourself starting to grow a little outside of your normal comfort zone of work, I highly recommend something like this.
