My Journey:
My journey began with a profound awareness that I had insights beyond my years—an intuitive understanding of life’s details that I hadn’t fully conceptualized. As a child, I would sit with my mom every Saturday, observing her in the salon where everyone gathered like a community. I was captivated by the transformation that took place—each movement purposeful, leading to a stunning masterpiece.
Under the guidance of a true master, I absorbed not just the techniques but the consistent, intentional execution that turned hairstyling into an art form. This experience ignited my dedication to the path of perfection. I practiced tirelessly, honing my craft and applying the philosophy of mastery to every aspect of my work.
As I grew, so did my family and responsibilities. Yet, I remained steadfast in my practice, using my skills to support my loved ones while embracing the independence that came from working with my hands and energy. Eventually, I published a book of spoken word poetry, which led to a pivotal conversation with a hair professional in Atlanta. This moment marked a turning point in my life.
Moving to Atlanta, a city known for its sacred energy and rapid manifestation, felt like aligning with my destiny. I found myself at Natural Creations, a salon on the South Side, where I learned the business side of the industry and deepened my love for my craft. This transformative experience taught me invaluable lessons and solidified my commitment to the art of loc care.
Through years of practice and dedication, I developed a business model that reflects my passion for holistic loc care, eventually leading to the creation of I AM LOCS and the Lochemy philosophy. Today, I continue to share my knowledge and techniques with others, helping them achieve mastery in their loc care journeys.
Current Update:
I am now a passionate traveler, exploring the world with my partner. Together, we are perfecting our survival and holistic knowledge of the universe, accompanied by our pup. This journey allows me to further enrich my understanding and practice, blending the art of loc care with a broader exploration of nature and energy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to where I am today has been far from smooth, filled with challenges that have shaped and strengthened me. As a single mother in a new city, balancing responsibilities while trying to start a business was overwhelming. I faced oppositional energy from energy very close to me, but instead of breaking me, it conditioned me to become a formidable force. I made a promise to myself to remain authentic, loving, and intentional, no matter the circumstances. Through radical forgiveness, I learned that life’s traumas were not meant to break me but to sculpt me. The loss of dear friends was a painful reminder to take accountability for my health and well-being. I embarked on a healing journey, applying ancient modalities to correct my chronic symptoms. This journey has taught me the art of letting go and operating at my highest frequency, allowing me to experience the beauty of life with deep gratitude. Today, I continue to grow, learn, and help others do the same through my work and teachings.

I AM LOCS is a holistic loc care business founded on the philosophy of Lochemy. This unique approach integrates ancient practices with modern techniques to offer a comprehensive and spiritually attuned care for locs. Originating in Atlanta, the business has since evolved, allowing me to travel as a photographer and stylist, providing loc consultations and maintenance in diverse locations such as Alaska. This evolution reflects my commitment to blending expertise in loc care with a broader exploration of nature and energy.
What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for?
At I AM LOCS, I specialize in holistic loc care through the Lochemy philosophy, which focuses on both the physical and spiritual dimensions of locs. I am known for offering personalized Lochemy sessions, loc maintenance, and a comprehensive online education program. This program empowers clients with the knowledge and skills to master their locs while honoring their cultural and spiritual significance. Our approach integrates ancient wisdom with modern methods, making our care both profound and practical.

What are you most proud brand wise?
I am most proud of the brand’s growth and the ability to offer a transformative, personalized experience. From our beginnings in Atlanta to our expansion as a traveling service and online education provider, I am proud of how I AM LOCS integrates loc care with deep spiritual and educational insights. The development of Lochemy and the positive impact it has on clients’ lives stand as a testament to our dedication to holistic health and spiritual wellness.
What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc.?
At I AM LOCS, our mission is to provide a holistic and spiritually attuned approach to loc care. Our online education program, which includes the free lesson “Exhalia,” is currently in production, with additional lessons to be released over time. These lessons cover holistic hair care, energetic connection, cultural and spiritual significance, and nature-based practices. Whether through our evolving online programs or in-person consultations, my goal is to help clients master their locs, connect with nature, and enhance their personal energy. What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the profound respect for the order of nature and the understanding of free will. Observing how the Creator allows us to make choices has been eye-opening. While we have the freedom to decide our paths, we must always be prepared for the reciprocity of our actions.
Respecting the Order of Nature: Embracing and aligning with nature’s rhythms and cycles has been crucial. This respect guides my holistic loc care approach, ensuring that my methods harmonize with nature’s inherent wisdom and processes. It teaches me to work in harmony with the natural world, which is foundational to my practice.
Understanding Free Will and Reciprocity: The Creator’s gift of free will comes with the responsibility to anticipate the consequences of our choices. This awareness has deepened my understanding of how every decision and action generates ripple effects. It’s a reminder to act with intention and integrity, knowing that our steps will eventually return to us.
Authenticity and Intention: Staying true to my values and operating with clear intention has transformed my approach to holistic loc care. Authenticity has enabled me to develop Lochemy—a unique blend of ancient practices and modern techniques—while intention ensures that every aspect of my work aligns with my core mission of holistic health and spiritual enrichment.

By integrating respect for nature, free will, authenticity, and intention, I strive to create a more harmonious and meaningful journey, both for myself and those I serve.
