Today we’d like to introduce you to Nolana Murray-Bibbs, M.Ed..
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Grants and More was established in 2012 with a simple goal which was to help nonprofits and small businesses access the resources they need to grow and make a meaningful impact. What began by taking a college course to earn my Master’s in Educational Management as a stay-at-home Mom, quickly evolved into a full-service consulting business as I saw how many organizations struggled not just with funding, but with strategy, structure, and visibility. Our success positioned us to broaden our services into additional areas that support clients of varying sizes and stages.
Today, we are proud to be accredited by the American Grant Professionals Association, reflecting our commitment to excellence and ethical standards. Our small but highly skilled team brings more than 14 years of combined experience, with advanced qualifications that include grant certifications, a Master’s Degree in Educational Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Graphic Arts. In addition to our consulting work, we operate our own 501(c)(3) organization serving at-risk youth, survivors of abuse, and low-income families, which is an experience that keeps us closely connected to the real-world challenges our clients face.
Grants and More now supports nonprofits and small businesses through comprehensive grant research and proposal writing, in-kind donation solicitation, business plan development, strategic consulting, and creative services such as web design and logo creation. We also assist clients with establishing LLCs and corporations, helping them build a strong foundation from day one. Everything we do is centered on empowerment, helping our clients secure funding, strengthen their operations, and confidently move forward at every stage of their journey.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many small businesses, one of the early challenges was getting our name out to the community while working with limited resources. There were times when I had to wear many hats and learn through experience while still delivering quality results for our clients.
Another challenge was staying current with trends, which required constant learning and flexibility. The funding and nonprofit landscape changes often, so there were moments that tested my patience and resilience, but each challenge pushed me to improve our systems, sharpen my skills, and grow stronger as an organization.
Looking back, those challenges played a major role in shaping Grants and More into the dependable, mission-driven company it is today.
As you know, we’re big fans of Grants and More. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Grants and More is a full-service consulting business dedicated to helping nonprofits and small businesses grow, secure funding, and build strong foundations. We specialize in grant writing and grant research, but our work goes far beyond funding. Our clients often come to us needing guidance, structure, and creative support, and we pride ourselves on being a true partner throughout their journey, not just a one-time service provider. We also develop business relationships by helping organizations obtain their 501(c)3 statuses, and partnering with them at events through our nonprofit that helps survivors of domestic violence return to college, mentoring youth, and helping low-income families.
What sets us apart is our comprehensive, hands-on approach. In addition to grant writing and in-kind donation requests, we offer consulting, custom business plans, and strategic support tailored to each client’s goals. We also provide creative and administrative services such as website development, logo design, presentations, company letterhead design, and branding, allowing our clients to present themselves professionally and confidently to funders and stakeholders. For organizations just getting started, we assist with setting up 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, corporations, and LLCs, as well as preparing 990-EZ tax filings.
We are especially proud of the trust we’ve built with our clients, which is reflected in our 5-star Google reviews. Those reviews represent not just successful outcomes, but strong relationships and consistent results. Our team combines technical expertise with real-world nonprofit and business experience, including operating our own 501(c)(3), which gives us a deep understanding of the challenges our clients face.
Brand-wise, what we are most proud of is our reputation for integrity, accessibility, and results. Grants and More is known for meeting clients where they are, simplifying complex processes, and empowering them with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed long-term. We want readers to know that when they work with us, they are gaining a committed partner who is invested in their mission, their growth, and their success, every step of the way.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along this journey is the value of patience, both with the process and with people. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, and meaningful results come from taking the time to do things the right way. Along the way, I’ve also learned that providing consistent, high-quality service is non-negotiable. No matter how big or small the project, the level of care and professionalism has to remain the same.
Equally important is truly listening to the client. Every organization has a unique story, mission, and set of challenges, and the best outcomes happen when you take the time to understand its goals instead of applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Patience, quality service, and active listening have shaped how we work at Grants and More, and they continue to be the foundation of the trust we’ve built with our clients.
