Exploring Life & Business with Nurse Key of Infinite Whealth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nurse Key.

Hi Nurse, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Then name Key was given to me by my patients and friends from my vibe and the way I treated them with love and compassion. My birth name is Zakeya which means beautiful flower and intelligence. I strive to constantly continue to blossom. I always had a big heart, but my calling came together when I was around 16 years old. My great great grandmother had passed away and she left a huge impact on me amongst so many other great women in my life. She taught me how to be a woman, love and care for others. When she passed away, I made a promise to myself that I would continue her legacy of love!

I got my first job in high school as a “shampoo girl” at a local beauty shop in the Lovejoy area and started to see how it felt to have my own money to do the things I wanted to do. They worked around my school schedule so I felt how it was to maximize both my time and money at a young age. I used to rack up on tips! My customers loved my conversations and scalp massages and always came back for more. I graduated high school at 17 and went straight to nursing school the following fall semester.

Nursing school was hard but I got through it after failing one semester by 1 point! yes 1 point caused me to take an entire semester over ! I was definitely partying and having a great time so I took full responsibility lol. I got pregnant with my first son in my last year of nursing school. I gave birth to him in August 2014 and graduated December 13th, 2014 (12-13-14). I’m big on numbers and alignment !

I was working as a nurse assistant before I took the test for my license, and as soon as I got licensed I started working as a nurse at South Ga Medical Center in Valdosta GA working long hours at a busy hospital. I will never forget my trainer, Mrs. Beverly. I still hold the values of nursing she taught me from day 1. Everyone loved me—patients, doctors, and other nurses. I had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for.

I moved back home to Atlanta, Ga 1 year after gaining experience and worked as a floor nurse and travel nurse up to Covid-2020 , then something in me started to change.

The money was gravy, but I would come home after 12-hour shifts, completely exhausted. My son would already be asleep or gone to school depending if I worked days or nights. I missed family dinners, game nights, even birthdays sometimes. My days off was spent trying to catch up on sleep. Deep down, I started to feel like life was passing me by.

One day I sat down and thought to myself, “I love being a nurse, but I also love being me. I want to be present. I want to enjoy life and time with my family.”

That’s when I took a year off to find myself, and spend more time with. my son. During that time I discovered independent nurse contracting—a way to work as a nurse on my own time and terms.

I created a plan, built my network, and took a leap of faith. I started an IV hydration. I offered mobile nursing services to clients to keep them out of the hospital and maintain a lifestyle of wellness. Now, I choose my schedule, and still make a big impact through my work. I didn’t quit nursing—I just redefined it on my terms.

My story is a reminder to all dreamers: You don’t have to choose between your passion and your peace. You can have both. You just need the courage to turn the key and unlock your own door!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not a smooth road at all. I had to build clientele from the ground up and educate people on how proper lifestyle maintenance can make a huge difference in lifestyle outcomes. I have done a couple of other businesses but I always come back to nursing and helping others whether it is mentally, physically or spiritually. It is my labor of love! I also had to learn to overcome people, situations and things that didn’t align with the person I was called to be. When trying to find yourself, it’s easy to get caught up into the person you used to be when people don’t respect who you are becoming. I had to learn that it doesn’t matter who believed in me, as long as I believed in myself and put God first, there is nothing I can’t overcome. I am now engaged and recently gave birth to my second son and have a beautiful blended family.

As you know, we’re big fans of Infinite Whealth. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Infinite Whealth formerly known as Professional Travel Nurses, empowers individuals to embrace their true selves while navigating their own individual journey, which ultimately leads to a healthy life. The name seamlessly integrates health and wealth as one. Most people think that money makes them “rich”, but true wealth is within the mind and soul of the individual. Money cannot buy happiness, joy and peace. Being a nurse for over 10 years has allowed me to see where the gaps in health and wellness are. I help people connect the dots in their journey and continue to pour into becoming the best version of themselves, whether it’s through a wellness phone call, virtual vision, or physically being present. What sets me apart from others is that I know who I am, I am unique in my own way, and I truly have a passion for seeing others succeed in all areas of their life. I offer nursing consultation, I speak with doctors for patients so they can understand their plan of care, I offer medication management, IV hydration, B12 injections, pre/post op surgery supplies and mindset mentoring.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I used to visit Atlanta often before I moved here in 1999 from Columbus, Ga. I always loved the fact that it was something going on and a lot more opportunities than being in a smaller city. I love the network, connections, food, vibes, and atmosphere of the city, but now that I’m older and my family is growing, I prefer a much more laid back vibe. I just want my land, a garden, a few animals, and my family to be in a safe ,thriving environment.
