Today we’d like to introduce you to Olympian Andrew Garpu-Reyes.
Hi Olympian Andrew, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
⸻
I started The Drew Stretch Method a few years ago with just two clients in Richland, Washington. At the time, it was just an idea—people around me didn’t fully understand it, and some even laughed at the concept. But I believed in the value of what I could provide: personalized stretch therapy, recovery, and performance enhancement that really worked.
Through perseverance, dedication, and a lot of late nights refining my methods, the business grew. I moved from Richmond to Kennewick, then to Pasco, and now we’re drawing clients from places like Scottsdale, Arizona, with plans for Beverly Hills in the near future. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of helping everyday people, athletes, and professionals improve their mobility, reduce pain, and perform at their best.
What’s kept me going is my personal belief in the work I do and the fact that I’ve seen real results. What started as a small vision has grown into something bigger than I imagined—attracting attention from NFL teams, Olympic committees, and businesses nationwide. It’s been a journey of faith, hard work, and showing people the power of what proper movement, recovery, and stretch therapy can do for their lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started The Drew Stretch Method in Richmond, Washington, I had just two clients. People around me—friends, colleagues, even family—didn’t fully understand the concept. Some laughed at the idea, and there were moments I questioned whether I could make it work. Financial pressure was real, and there were days I wondered if my vision was too big for where I was starting.
Moving the business wasn’t easy either. From Richland to Kennewick, then Pasco, each step came with challenges: finding the right space, building a client base, and proving that my methods truly worked. Expanding to Scottsdale and planning Beverly Hills? That’s another level of challenge—logistics, trust, and ensuring every client gets the attention and results they deserve.
But every struggle taught me something invaluable: resilience, patience, and the importance of trusting my own skills. I learned to turn doubt into determination and obstacles into opportunities. Today, when I see the impact on clients—athletes moving better, people overcoming pain, and the growing national attention—it’s clear every struggle was worth it. Those challenges shaped not just my business, but the person I’ve become: focused, determined, and ready for what’s next.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was shaped by a combination of resilience, curiosity, and faith. I was born with a deep connection to my roots in Africa, which instilled in me a sense of purpose, pride, and determination from a very young age. Growing up in poverty taught me the value of hard work, discipline, and perseverance—I quickly learned that success doesn’t come easy and that every opportunity must be earned.
Personality-wise, I was naturally competitive, driven, and highly observant. I loved movement, athletics, and pushing myself to achieve goals others might think were impossible. From a young age, I was fascinated by the human body and how it moves, which planted the seeds for my future in kinesiology and performance.
Despite financial hardships, I never let my circumstances define me. I found joy in helping others, motivating people around me, and sharing knowledge—even as a kid, teaching and guiding others felt natural. Those experiences, combined with my faith and connection to my heritage, have shaped who I am today, both as an individual and as the founder of The Drew Stretch Method. My journey from humble beginnings to building a nationally recognized brand is a testament to resilience, faith, and unwavering dedication.
