Today we’d like to introduce you to Omnia Abdel Gawad.
Omnia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was a teenager, a teacher I looked up to once told me, “Schools and colleges teach you how to learn, but new experiences teach you what you need to learn!”. That one comment resonated with me and drove me to seek new experiences and view challenges as an opportunity to learn. So, I went from beginning my professional career as a software engineer and transitioned to a project manager then symposium manager to process improvement professional and then an international management consultant. The underlying theme tying all these experiences was a deep desire to make a contribution, solve a challenge or support people on their personal and professional journeys.
One thing I noticed throughout my career is how many people put their careers, families or friends first and rarely take care of themselves, whether physically, mentally or emotionally. To help address this need, I became a certified life coach and grief recovery specialist and founded Aspirations by Omnia, whose aim was to empower individuals to shift their mindset, step out of their comfort zone, overcome grief and create the life they always aspired. Having worked with hundreds of people, another theme started to emerge; many people had very low self-esteem, confidence and poor body image. I would see people in their thirties that looked like they were in their fifties! I was already supporting them to deal with their emotional challenges and wanted to provide additional support to boost their natural beauty and self-image.
In 2020, I founded Omni Beauty with a vision to provide a safe, clean, cruelty-free skincare products and become the exclusive North American agent for Bioshpere, a swiss skincare company. In 2021, I opened Omni Beauty Spa in Alpharetta, Georgia. A clean beauty spa that provides personalized and affordable facial treatments for men and women. I designed the service to combine the highly effective Biosphere line of products with proven and innovative technologies to meet the unique skincare needs of each client. In 2022, I introduced body treatments that helped reduce fat, build muscle and help clients on their fitness and weight loss journeys.
I feel immense joy in being able to provide my clients with a holistic experience that helps support them to achieve their skincare, body or emotional goals.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey so far has been anything but smooth! COVID was the first major obstacle as the pandemic hit right when I launched my business. It forced me to rethink my whole marketing approach as I was unable to hold beauty parties or hire sales agents. I also had to scale down any direct marketing as social distancing and masking limited any kind of skincare demonstrations. The second major challenge was introducing an international skincare brand into a new market in the US and differentiating it from all the other skincare products that were available and established. I made substantial investments in promoting the brand and giving freebies and samples so people can start experiencing the difference.
The third major obstacle was the amount of work that I had to handle on my own. I wore a lot of hats from accountant to sales agent to marketing specialist to social media content creator to esthetician. I rarely got a break and there weren’t enough hours in the day to get through all that was needed.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Be patient, persevere and don’t give up. If you love what you are doing and believe in your service/product/talent, you will eventually reach your goal. You will face many obstacles along the way and it is normal to feel discouraged and exhausted. That is why self-care is very important; take a break, re-energize, and keep at it.
