Today we’d like to introduce you to Page Kuhlman.
Hi Page, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my love for real estate after my husband and I bought our first home together in Denver, CO in 2014. That home was in Capital Hill/Cheeseman Park area. We did a renovation on it and sold it a year later making a profit. After that, we rolled some of the profit into another home in Steamboat Springs, CO and did an amazing renovation on that house and sold it. We have bought and renovated homes now in Colorado, Florida, and Atlanta. Each time we have sold, the Buyer asks to purchase the homes fully furnished down to the sheets and towels. I decided as much as I love buying, renovating, and selling our own homes, I would probably enjoy being a part of the buying/selling process with others. Selling and buying a house is a giant deal for most people and it’s an honor to be chosen to represent someone on their purchase or sale of a home.
The first part of my adult life I was a hairdresser in Palm Beach. That transformed into not only styling hair but styling people in their personal lives as well. I would like to think that the years of experience behind the chair really taught me how to figure out how people would like the world to see them. This same art of communication transfers into real estate with helping others find the home that they see their future in, how they would like to live. Being a great hairdresser or being a great real estate agent is so much more than most people who are not in these industries think. It means being a best friend, mentor, and most importantly advisor.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Has it been smooth? No. It most definitely has its ups and downs. One minute you have a million things going on at once. The next minute you can sit down and when you can sit down, you are sitting there thinking “I shouldn’t be sitting here, I need to be doing something to get more business.” The struggles along the way are what make us appreciate the good times when we have them. When in a slump I try to remind myself good times are coming. If the pandemic really didn’t drive that home, I’m not sure what could.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work for Dorsey Alston Realtors super happy to be a part of their team. They are a local brokerage and this year celebrating 75 years. When interviewing with the brokers, they said Dorsey Alston is more than a brokerage it’s a family. It is so true, from the moment I started everyone was so welcoming and helpful.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
What has worked well for me is being positive, outgoing, and kind. This works always. If you want to know someone…kill them with kindness. If someone is being mean to you…kill them with kindness. If you can tell someone is having a hard time…kill them with kindness. That works well for me.
