Exploring Life & Business with Pierre O’driscoll of Pierre the Pear Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierre O’driscoll

Hi Pierre, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve done photography as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until being in Atlanta and specifically the Georgia Tech community that I realized my urge to share the passion for my art with others. Despite being an engineering student going full-time this summer, I knew I had an ability to capture people in a way that made them see themselves as beautiful, and that’s what 2 years ago pushed me towards marketing my skills as a business. It’s brought unbelievable blessings, empowering me to feel so surrounded by a community I formerly saw as daunting coming from across the country. I’ve stayed in spaces that I am confident in my skills in; namely Graduations and Events, as I truly want everyone to have the best photos possible, something that drives my intentionality in each session. I’m so glad to be staying in Atlanta as it’s become a space I truly love.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly, it has been a smooth road. I’m lucky to say money was never a measure of my success and enjoyment, and, as I don’t rely on my business for a living, it is one of the smaller benefits that has been brought to me. I’ve met so many amazing people I would have graduated never having met, and those people have blessed me by spreading word of my talents such that I’ve hardly had to advertise to continue getting consistent clients throughout the last year!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’ve been in business in Atlanta over 2 years, doing graduation portraits for 82 people, countless event shoots, a proposal, several video shoots, and a wedding. I pride myself on my quick turnaround, technical knowledge, and personal connection and transparency. I’ve been told I’m a fun, relatable personality to work with and have a way of capturing people in a way that makes them feel beautiful despite feeling doubtful before our session. I limit the number of bookings I take as I want to always be associated with luxury and intentionality. Along with that, I follow very simple pricing and will work with any troubles or mix-ups as I hate add-ons maybe even more than you do!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
