Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Ligon.
Hi Rachel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey started in the world of broadcast journalism. I worked as a news producer for NBC and ABC-affiliated stations, producing live newscasts in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where every second mattered. It taught me how to think on my feet, lead under pressure, and communicate with clarity and urgency—skills that would later become the foundation of how I teach leadership and entrepreneurship today.
After years in news, I transitioned into the Atlanta film and television industry, starting from the ground up as a production assistant. I worked hard, paid my dues, and eventually moved into accounting and on multi-million dollar scripted TV shows and films for Disney, Amazon Studios, Tyler Perry Studios, and more. I wasn’t a producer in the traditional film sense, but I played a significant role behind the scenes on major productions and also had the privilege of producing a few award-winning independent film projects along the way.
But while I was working behind the scenes in both news and entertainment, I started to feel a deeper calling. I had a “dream job” on paper, but in my spirit, I knew I was built for more. I wanted to use my voice and experience to help people—not just tell stories, but change lives.
Then my life took a turn. I lost my mom—my best friend, my biggest cheerleader—right in the middle of transitioning from employee to entrepreneur. That moment shattered me, but it also built me. I leaned into my faith, my purpose, and my passion for personal development. I started investing in myself—over $50,000 in courses, coaching, and mentorship—learning everything I could about online business, digital marketing, and passive income. And I didn’t keep that knowledge to myself. I started teaching others how to turn their own experiences, skills, and stories into income.
That’s how the Adorn Boss Business Academy was born. I built a community and curriculum to help new and aspiring entrepreneurs—especially women—discover their niche, develop digital products, and start building purpose-driven online businesses. I use my story and my strategies to show people that no matter what they’ve been through, they can profit from what they know, create time, location, and financial freedom, and live a life they actually love.
Now, I’m a digital marketing strategist, and business coach who teaches people how to go from stuck to five and six figures—and beyond—without burning out or selling their soul. I’ve helped clients across all industries launch digital products, build powerful brands, and gain clarity on who they are and what they were born to do.
In addition to coaching, I’m also a speaker. I speak both nationally and internationally at conferences, corporate trainings, universities, associations, and faith-based events on transformational topics like leadership, resilience, communication, and personal development—grounded in the real-life lessons I learned in media, business, and beyond. My G.O. L.I.V.E. Framework has helped professionals, entrepreneurs, and teams learn how to thrive under pressure and lead with clarity, even in unpredictable environments.
My story is still being written, but every twist, trial, and testimony has led me here—and I’m just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not—it’s been anything but a smooth road. But every obstacle taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way.
I’ve battled fear, imposter syndrome, burnout, grief, and the pressure to “have it all together” while figuring things out behind the scenes. One of the hardest seasons of my life was losing my mom—my best friend and biggest supporter—right in the middle of leaving my secure job to become a full-time entrepreneur. It felt like the rug was pulled out from under me. I was grieving deeply, but I still had to show up for myself and the vision God gave me.
There were times I questioned everything—whether I was good enough, smart enough, or even built for this. I struggled with clarity, doubted my abilities, and made investments in myself that didn’t always pay off right away. I had to learn how to trust God in the wilderness, keep going when no one was clapping, and believe in the calling on my life even when results didn’t match the vision yet.
Building a business from scratch is hard. Learning digital marketing, building funnels, managing clients, staying consistent with content—it’s a lot. I didn’t grow up with a blueprint for this. I had to create one. And I made plenty of mistakes along the way.
But I wouldn’t trade any of it. Every delay, detour, and disappointment refined me. It gave me compassion for others, resilience I didn’t know I had, and a story worth telling. I truly believe the struggle made me stronger—and now I help others navigate theirs with more confidence, clarity, and strategy than I had when I started.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the core, I help new and aspiring entrepreneurs—especially women—turn what they know into what they sell. I’m the founder of the Adorn Boss Business Academy, a personal development and digital marketing company designed to help people build profitable online businesses through digital products like courses, e-books, communities, and coaching.
What sets my brand apart is that I don’t just teach strategy—I teach identity. I help people get clear on their God-given gifts, purpose, and story so they can build a business that actually feels aligned—not just something that makes money, but something that makes sense. Because when you’re in alignment, the money follows.
I specialize in helping entrepreneurs discover their niche, clarify their brand message, create irresistible digital offers, and market themselves online using ethical and effective strategies. I combine mindset coaching, faith-based leadership, and proven marketing techniques—and I’ve built a reputation for making business simple, soulful, and sustainable.
I’m most proud that my brand is transformational. I’m not here to just give information—I help people shift their perspective, build confidence, and actually take action. My clients often say, “I’ve been sitting on this idea for years… and now I finally did it because of you.” That’s what I live for.
I also speak nationally and internationally doing keynotes and host in person and virtual workshops on topics that resonated deeply with both professionals and entrepreneurs across all industries.
The heart behind Adorn Boss is about helping people build businesses that support the life they want. I want my readers to know this: You don’t need millions of followers to make money online. You don’t need to be perfect to get started. You just need the right guidance, a clear strategy, and a little bit of faith. That’s what I provide—and that’s what makes the Adorn Boss brand different.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Honestly, the quality that has carried me the furthest is resilience. Life has tested me in ways I never expected—But I never let any of it stop me. I allow every challenge to sharpen me.
I also think my ability to take action before I feel ready has been a game-changer. I don’t wait for perfect conditions—I believe clarity comes through movement. That’s what I teach my clients, too. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need to start, stay faithful, and be willing to grow.
